The B-Ark / away v Chorley
« on: December 01, 2018, 03:56:16 PM »
Leading 1 - 0 at half-time thanks to a fine break from the Pilgrims culminated in Walker advancing on the left flank to fire the ball beyond Urwin, at his near post, from 18 yards.

The B-Ark / v Ashton Utd
« on: November 03, 2018, 04:57:23 PM »
Boston leading 1 - 0 until 87th min.  Abbott had previously substituted for David Norris but now sent off and Ashton soon equalised.
Massive disappointment and another example of poor discipline letting us down.

The B-Ark / European Super League
« on: November 03, 2018, 09:42:55 AM »
What do you think about the proposed European Super League?

Founders:   Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City,
Real Madrid, AC Milan, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Paris St-Germain.
Five "initial guests:  Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, Marseille, Roma.

Personally, if it happens I would say “good riddance”.

The B-Ark / v Darlington

One down and Middleton sent off.
Willis now sent off so down to 9 men, but still trying to attack.

The B-Ark / v Blyth Spartans 13 Oct
« on: October 03, 2018, 10:46:04 AM »
Good chance for CE and his team to assess our next opponents Blyth Spartans who are at Gainsborough in the FAC this Sat.  They may be lowly placed in the league at the moment but have faced a lot of the fancied teams and will be a tough nut to crack.

The B-Ark / Home win v Guiseley
« on: August 04, 2018, 07:15:59 PM »
A win and a clean sheet makes for a great start to the season.  Not the most exciting match but pleasing in the way the defence nullified the threat of Thompson who was replaced on 77 mins by Felix who was equally well contained.  Willis may have seemed a strange choice for the captaincy but it seemed to work and I can't remember him having a shot to save.  Andre Johnson replaced Jonny Margetts on 69 mins and his injection of pace almost led to an immediate breakthrough.  5 mins later he eluded the last defender and scored what would be the only goal of the game.

« on: March 19, 2018, 10:27:31 PM »
Several lower placed teams will slug it out in the next few games, beginning the scrap to keep clear of the play-off places.

Tomorrow night Gainsborough (21) are away at FCUM (18) and Telford (20) are away at Alfreton (17)
On Saturday Curzon (19) are home to Tamworth (16)

The B-Ark / V York City
« on: March 08, 2018, 11:00:57 PM »
We beat them 2 - 1 in Dec but full-time York will be a tough nut to crack on their own patch.  We will be without the suspended Reece Thompson but they will also miss their 20 goal striker Jonathan Parkin who serves out the last of his 3 match ban.

The B-Ark / Additional Leagues at Step 3 & 4 for 2018/9
« on: March 02, 2018, 04:30:43 PM »
There will be an extra league at Step 3 for the coming season.
Currently it consists of 3 Divisions: Northern Premier, Southern Premier and Bostik Premier.

For 2018/9 there will be 4, Northern Premier, Central Premier (from the east coast to the west of Birmingham), South West Premier and South East Premier

There will be 7 Divisions at Step 4 instead of the current 6.

The B-Ark / Looking up at last
« on: January 07, 2018, 07:04:03 PM »
For the first time this season we are looking up the table instead of down.  All very tight around us in the league and our record is virtually identical to FCUM and almost as good as Tamworth.  In our next scheduled league match all 3 of us are matched against teams 8 places above us.

The B-Ark / Saturday 13th Jan 2018
« on: December 28, 2017, 11:23:15 AM »
Our scheduled home game against Spennymoor on Sat 13th Jan is still in doubt as they will be playing in the Trophy if they beat Gainsborough, whenever they manage to get that game played.  It is supposed to be this Sat. but with the frozen pitches up North it is now looking unlikely.

The B-Ark / BUFC squad
« on: October 31, 2017, 10:55:37 AM »
Shane Killock recalled by BPA so an immediate reshuffle required.
Expect Vince and Rollins to be starting and Jordan Keane at Centre Back. Would like to see James Clifton at Right Back, bombing forward when possible.  Torn between matching Greg Smith against Pidge or consolidating midfield with Broadhead and using the speed of Tshimanga and Rollins with the ball on the deck.

The B-Ark / Jay Rollins returns
« on: August 26, 2017, 11:07:50 AM »
Boston United have re-signed their reigning player of the year Jay Rollins ahead of the impending Bank Holiday weekend double-header.

The 23-year-old, who netted 18 goals during his first two seasons with the Pilgrims, has put pen-to-paper on a new contract which ties him to the club until the end of the season.

Welcome back Jay.
