BUFC 4 -2 winners over AFC Mansfield and a prize of £3,375 plus a guaranteed £1,875 from the next round.

Good run out for several players needing match time although the first league away game at Leamington on Tues night will probably see a few changes.

Home to AFC Mansfield

If Gainsborough had beaten AFC Mansfield in the last round they would have been away to us, but at home at the same time!

The B-Ark / v Blyth Spartans
« on: January 30, 2020, 06:57:08 PM »
4 wins and a draw is our best sequence of results this season.
Can we make it 5 and a draw with an away win at Blyth?

The B-Ark / United v Gateshead - Tues 14th Jan
« on: January 11, 2020, 11:03:28 AM »
We are getting a rest this Sat ahead of Tuesday's match against full-time unit Gateshead,  Unfortunately, they are too as their match at Gloucester City called off due to waterlogged pitch.  525 miles round trip averted and advantage to us gone!

Don't know what this means to the 4 for 3 ticket deal.

The B-Ark / Farsley Celtic
« on: November 16, 2019, 03:38:02 PM »
Goal to Boston on 25mins.  Penalty for handball converted by Thewlis.
Farsley equalised 3 mins later.  Handball by Jackson who had replaced the injured centre back Penny and Spencer headed home the resultant free kick.

Anyone know if Middleton is injured as he isn't involved today or the previous game at Spennymoor?

« on: November 15, 2019, 01:01:38 PM »
Curzon Ashton will now visit The Jakemans Stadium on Tuesday January 7 (kick-off 7.45pm), subject to the Pilgrims not being involved in any televised FA Cup third round action the weekend beforehand.

Surprised by the proviso though!

Came back from a goal down at half time to win 3 - 1 with a hat-trick by Jordan Thewlis.  Well done United!
That sets us up nicely for Tues evening's Lincolnshire Cup semi-final home tie v Grantham and then next week's FAC match away at Carshalton.

The B-Ark / Who cares anyway?

Public meetings regarding The Boston Alternative Energy Facility are ending this week and judging by the number of people who turned out (8 of us today), either everyone fully understands the impact of it, or just can’t be bothered.
I’ve been to 4 meetings, asked loads of questions and studied the thick binders of information at Boston Library.  I am left with lots of concerns but will concentrate on the actual waste for now.

THE WASTE is the type we can’t recycle, the horrible stuff, and for us it goes in our green bin.
Except it won’t be our waste as it can’t be put through the Facility.
It will come from anywhere down the East coast of England & Scotland.
I say anywhere because no-one knows any details yet.
Because it is the horrible stuff, they say it is going to be sorted and the very nasty stuff like Hazardous waste taken out before it is baled up ready to be shipped.  Hazardous waste can take many forms like garden pesticides, paint, batteries, unused prescriptions, asbestos, smoke detectors, bleach,  dog dirt, dead animals, etc.   If you think that lot can be screened out you have more faith than me, especially since the waste providers are not known yet.

NUMBERS.
12 ships per week, each capable of carrying 2,500 tonnes of waste in 1,800 plastic wrapped bales.
This is 1.3 million tonnes of other areas waste per year .
12,600 tonne  stored in the open on the quayside ready to be fed into the Facility in rotation.
Each bale will be outside up to 5 days.
With numbers like this, what price contamination of the river or The Wash?

« on: May 02, 2019, 12:29:27 AM »
Altrincham equalised against Blyth in 90+3mins 2-2.  In the penalty shootout all pens were scored until Blyth missed the 7th one.  They will now be away to Chorley.
Spennymoor beat BPA 1-0 and now will be away to Brackley.
