The B-Ark / Re: King's Lynn

Don't like to see clubs fold. However...

If King's Lynn went belly up as quickly as North Ferriby did and their record was expunged, we would lose no points and York would lose three. We'd then be second in the league, three points behind the leaders York and with two games in hand. I'd then expect us to go up automatically.

But let's win this league in better circumstances.

The B-Ark / Play off dates

Does anybody know the dates of this season's play offs?

I don't want to put the mockers on our chances, but I'd rather book leave from work now rather than risk not getting it approved if I ask for a day off a few days before a game. But I can't find the dates listed on any website - including the national league's.

Great financial boost for both sides. Lincoln folk are known for turning up in their thousands as soon as there's a sight of silverware. And it'll be the only silverware on show at Sincil Bank all season.

Russell Slade is the new manager of Hereford.

Gone.

At least he kept his manager's job over Christmas. Does that mean Slade was the Christmas Number One?

Our "other" recent jailbird ex player, Adam Chapman, served longer than this for causing death by dangerous driving. Whilst you can't condone what Chapman did, I'm pretty sure he didn't set out to kill anyone and there was an element of "accident" to what happened. Thompson held his victim hostage for a couple of days, so it was very much a decisive action and premeditated. For him to be out this soon, the law really does let us down sometimes.

It looks like he's out of prison... his twitter account is active again and he's posted about getting his boots out again and asking if any club's want any goals banging in. Personally speaking, hope we wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

Fail to understand the maths of the justice system sometimes... Sentenced to 40 months in July 2019, that's only six months ago. I get that sentences are truncated with good behaviour inside, but to only serve one eighth of the sentence behind bars???

Pretty spot on there ...
I did find their chant of 'a town full of spastics' very unpleasant.. that isnt banter...its nasty

I'm glad someone else has raised this as I didn't want to be the first … when you consider their own assistant manager Paul Bastock lives in the town and has raised a disabled child it is actually ironic as well as deeply unpleasant and nasty. I wonder how he felt when the chant was coming across from his own supporters?

Racist and homophobic abuse at football gets discussed a lot and is being tackled, but isn't anti-disability abuse just as bad? Shouldn't the police have been moving into the away end yesterday to arrest the ring leaders? And shouldn't King's Lynn Town FC face some sanctions for this?

The B-Ark / Boston United's best moment of the decade
« on: December 22, 2019, 01:11:35 PM »
Inspired by something I've just seen on Twitter, what was Boston United's best moment in the 2010-2019 decade? (Haven't got my own answer yet, the away support at Rochdale is up there but the fact that it was recent may be skewing my judgement - need more thinking time).

Feel free to nominate the worst moment as well! Losing 9-2 away at Fylde, perhaps?

EDIT: With apologies to those that have replied already, let's throw in another category... Player of the decade. Carl Piergianni?

Mansfield Town have sacked manager John Dempster and are looking to appoint a replacement. In the meantime,, ex Pilgrims midfielder Jamie McGuire is in temporary charge.

Sad news.

Just a thought... Watford have named a stand after Graham Taylor, Man Utd after Alex Ferguson and Nottingham Forest after Brian Clough. We'll soon have four new stands to name at The Quadrant. Could we call them different to the North, East, South and West stands? Why not name our stands after our most successful (and popular) former managers?

Can't make tonight's fans forum, maybe a, question someone else could put to the club?

I'll be raising that point myself, as a club we could do more to honour both Jim and Howard Wilkinson. I know commercial concerns override emotion in football but in the case of these two I'm sure the club could come up with something.

Cheers N40. I'd also put Arthur Mann in the same bracket as Smith and Wilkinson. The achievement in reaching Wembley can't be overestimated.

Really good stuff, thanks.

Only two questions I can think of which aren't covered...

... What time do the turnstiles open?

... Are fans allowed to buy from the chippie,  take food inside the ground and eat in their seats? (I remember one away ground wouldn't let me take chips inside the stadium because I hadn't bought them from the club).

.....and nobody has made a quip about grass roots football yet?

Or queried whether he's moved to Peterborough because the grass is greener on the other side.

So  2-2 draw against Kidderminster at home from two seasons ago was York Street's last ever FA Trophy tie.

Mike Pollitt, ex Lincoln City goalkeeper, was born on 29th February 1972. He'll celebrate his twelfth birthday next year.
