The B-Ark / Attendance Competition - win £50 voucher
« on: August 16, 2011, 09:47:27 AM »
I see the club have a competition with a prize of a £50 voucher for use in the online club shop by simply predicting the attendance of tonight's opening home fixture against Histon.

You can enter on the club shop site at: http://www.bufconline.com/

The B-Ark / Prediction League - Boston United vs Histon
« on: August 14, 2011, 06:54:27 PM »
Histon drew 2-2 with Blyth Spartans on Saturday - after being 2-0 up. So I'm going for:

Boston United 2-1 Histon (1550)

The B-Ark / Prediction League - Workington vs Boston United
« on: August 08, 2011, 08:52:32 AM »
The Conference North campaign kicks off with a long trip to Workington. The match last season was a 5-3 Boston win. I can see it being a highish scoring game again after Boston's pre-season so I'm going for:

Workington 2-2 Boston United (407)

The B-Ark / Comments about our former manager

Just listened to Micky Adams post-match interview on the BBC web site following Port Vale's 2-2 draw with Crawley. Classic comments about Steve Evans.  ;D

The B-Ark / Pilgrims' Patter Player Sponsorship
« on: August 02, 2011, 11:26:52 AM »
For the last three seasons we've clubbed together to sponsor a player. I think there is enough interest to do it again this season. But before I let Craig know I'd better check there are a few of you who will contribute. If it's the same as last season we need to raise about £220 to sponsor home & away kits. I usually put in £50 to get it going and the rest of you contribute in £10 or more chunks until we reach the required total.

As per last year anyone who sends in £10 or more will be entered into a draw to receive the sponsored player's shirts at the end of the season.

Craig has e-mailed me to say that Ben Wilkinson and Tom Ward are available, so let me know which one you would prefer to sponsor.

So will you be joining in the fun this season?

Time to start this one up for Tuesday evening's clash in the Lincs Senior Shield. Despite Gainsborough flashing the cash over the summer I'll go for something similar to last season:

Gainsborough Trinity 1-2 Boston United (365)

The B-Ark / Charity Run - Sunday 19th June
« on: June 03, 2011, 05:16:27 PM »
In December 2007 Terry Pratchett, one of my favourite authors, was diagnosed with a rare early-onset form of Alzheimer's. So for the last three years I have entered Jane Tomlinson's 10K Run for All in Leeds to try to raise some money for Alzheimer's Research UK to fund research to help people like Terry from losing their thinking skills. Well it's time for run number four as once again I'm planning on doing the Run for All in Leeds. I'm hoping that despite the harsh economic climate my friends will dig deep to add to the total of more than £3000 they have generously donated for the previous runs. It has been really appreciated by both myself and Alzheimer's Research UK. They are funding some great research and every day they’re getting closer to discovering the breakthrough that could change so many lives. Your donation will be funding more top research that will discover ways to help people like Terry from losing their thinking skills.

The run takes place this year on Sunday 19th June at 9am so it could be hot! Leeds based Patterers may have spotted me huffing and puffing as I run round Woodhouse Moor in the evenings training. It is expected that more than 10,000 runners will be taking part again and my target is to maintain my record of completing the course in less minutes than I am years old. It would also be really nice to break 45 minutes or get into the top 500 for the first time. This year the celebrity runner is 38 year old Matt Dawson - England's most capped scrum-half, "Question of Sport" team captain and "Celebrity Masterchef" winner. The Leeds Rhinos are also entering a team of fans. I'm sure there will be the usual collection of running fruit, nuns and superheroes out there as well.

My JustGiving page is now set up: http://www.justgiving.com/kenfox2011, so please dig deep and make a donation.

The B-Ark / Prediction League - Guiseley vs Boston United
« on: May 01, 2011, 07:43:24 PM »
It's playoff time. Both games with Guiseley ended in draws, so I'm going for another one:

Guiseley 1-1 Boston United (537)

The B-Ark / Prediction League - Boston United vs Vauxhall Motors
« on: April 25, 2011, 11:02:13 PM »
A win could give Boston United second place if Telford slip up, so there's still something to play for as well as maintaining winning momentum going into the playoffs. My Computer predicts an easy home win so I'm going for:

Boston United 3-1 Vauxhall Motors (1354)

The B-Ark / Prediction League - Nuneaton Town vs Boston United
« on: April 23, 2011, 08:23:53 PM »
Nuneaton haven't been playing too well recently so My Computer has this down as an easy Away Win, so I'm going for:

Nuneaton Town 1-1 Boston United (1002)

The B-Ark / Prediction League - Boston United vs Blyth Spartans
« on: April 20, 2011, 04:43:12 PM »
My Computer has this down as a straightforward home win. It's time we saw some goals so I'm going for the traditional score against Blyth:

Boston United 5-4 Blyth Spartans (1416)

The B-Ark / Prediction League - Boston United vs Stamford AFC
« on: April 17, 2011, 09:45:10 PM »
It's the Lincs Senior Shield Final against Stamford. Boston played them in the same competition in 2008 and lost 1-4, so will they do better this time?

I'm going for:

Boston United 2-1 Stamford AFC (456)

The B-Ark / Prediction League - Boston United vs Hyde
« on: April 11, 2011, 10:29:00 PM »
My Computer has this down as a narrow home win. With Hyde fighting the threat of relegation it may be closer than expected but I'm still going for:

Boston United 1-0 Hyde (1361)

The B-Ark / Prediction League - AFC Telford United vs Boston United
« on: April 06, 2011, 09:27:42 PM »
My Computer has this down as a narrow home win, so I'm going for:

AFC Telford United 1-0 Boston United (2262)

We'll just have to beat them in the playoff final instead!

And one sent in earlier by shorty2kuk

AFC Telford 0-1 Boston United

The B-Ark / Prediction League - Boston United vs Worcester City
« on: March 29, 2011, 10:27:06 PM »
My Computer has this down as a draw, but I reckon it's time Boston beat this lot despite their good away form! So I'm going for:

Boston United 1-0 Worcester City (1352)
