The B-Ark / Re: Today's Referendum
« on: June 20, 2014, 10:04:22 AM »
Hang on a minute, there's something wrong with the figures. According to Sue Bell, on the Wyberton website: Well done villagers of Wyberton for your support and common sense. 86.25% vote NO to the development. So she's obviously counting the 2,400-odd who didn't vote as against the development. The way she uses figures she'd be an asset to the council!

Anyone read the latest epistle from 'Sue' on the Protest Group site? It seems if the plans go ahead Wyberton will be flooded, noisy, you'll be unable to get about in the area because of all the extra traffic, sewerage will back up in surrounding areas because of the infrastructure (or lack of), water pressure will drop, do we need another hotel (yes, I think so), and five more restaurant in the area etc etc. Please do as Chris asks: don't be complacent, remember a noisy minority can often sway things. People are already saying Wyberton will be swallowed up by Boston - do you know where Boston finishes and Wyberton starts?

Just as a matter of interest I see there is to be a 3G pitch. Surely the pitch should be grass to play in the Conference and above?

Only there in case Ferriby won! You know, Ferriby from north of the Humber where Look North's area ends!

Well spotted Shoddy, the white ball, that's the one next to the green ball in the goalies mits, had just been thrown back over the barrier.  :D
Isn't it amazing how 'dignitries' appear out of the wood work for a freebie. They have probably never set foot in the ground before. It would be nice to see them become regular visitors providing they pay to get in. I assume they were there because of the impending planning applications. Better approve it or they will have to pay next time.
I know, spelt dignits wrong but who cares, actually dignits is a better word.

The mayor and his Deputy were there to welcome the United lads who had cycled from Ferriby.

Wouldn't be Look North - their area finishes just north of the Humber!

Didn't Wyberton win the Lincs League (and Cup) a few seasons ago? Think they may have consulted their players to get their views before applying for Lincs League

I was always under the impression that Vauxhall Motors sponsored them. They always arrive here in a top class Vauxhall coach with their name on the front

Heard the Lincoln manager and several of their players were at the game as their match was off. Wonder what they thought?

MY granddad said on tue. it proved we have no one to cover for MARRS and GARNER and STAINFIELD can cover anywere across the back or in c/mid. he says if there bringing players back he would like to see YATES and SNEATH back if we can afford them.
my gandad is realy mad with you lot  he says theres only one player from last season worth his salt  that's NEWSHAM. ;)

Miele - which team does your granddad go to see play? Is he getting mixed up with one in the Boston League?

The B-Ark / Re: Action group to form to fight Quadrant plans
« on: December 18, 2013, 02:38:11 PM »
Did anyone make the meeting last night?

Looks like the Wyberton Quadrant Action Group are firmly against the proposed development - they were handing out ‘STOP THE QUADRANT’ leaflets after the meeting. The fact they had these leaflets printed up before the consultation even happened is a bit strange. You’d have thought they would have gone along and listened to what was said about the plans and aired any concerns they had BEFORE they made their minds up and launched their campaign.

There’s also an e-petition and a website: www.thefutureofwyberton.co.uk

Worth taking a look at the blog page.... http://www.thefutureofwyberton.co.uk/Blog

Just had a look at that blog. Seems many seem to think United should share with PRSA or actually use PRSA. No-one seems to remember that when PRSA was first mooted the idea was put forward then that United could use it - but according to stories at the time no PROFESSIONAL teams are allowed to play there. And I think the rugby club might have something to say about their facilities being shared

Yes, good pictures Ken. But where were all the fans Tamworth played in front of on telly last week?  ;D

Very lazy journalism, it's an article written by someone who really couldn't be bothered to do their home work.

It is also quite a damaging article with many
Inaccuracies.
Who do I contact to tell them so?

I wouldn't bother - they are only interested in making sure they get their facts right about Lincoln City
