The B-Ark / Re: A plea to our great chairman
« on: March 04, 2013, 03:09:29 PM »
I take your point BG, but can i say its a little bit of  black N white way of looking it.  On one hand we have a Journeyman Manager, who is at best a decent level 4 manager.  The other chappie is a young guy, played the Non league game at a decent level, in his first real management position and has made a decent job of it.  With him you might be buying into potential, what have we bought into with Drury ?

Is Drury not kind of making his own Budget ?  When he was interviewed for the postion did he inform Mr Newton that we would double the gate? the same as he told us supporters.  With gates on the downward slide since his appointment, can he really be that surprised that his budget has been cut.  He cant have it both ways!

Maybe Kings Lynn  could afford to pay above the going rate to get out of the United League.  I dont think their gates are anywhere near as big as ours, so how can Setchell have a bigger budget than Drury ? or do Lynn have a rich businessman pumping in money ?  I have seen Lynn play once this season ( Coalville) they looked a really decent side, which is more than we look.

Get the guy Setchell in from Kings Lynn.   He seems to be able to work to a budget and acheive results.  Only got to look at the run they had in the Trophy to kow he can do it at this level, and higher.   Drury is a just a journeyman Manager and we deserve better than that.

Most new managers when they join a new club at least get the players at it for the first few weeks of his arrival.  Not Drury.  He has done nothing to win us fans over.

As for next season his normal MO is get in players left, right and centre during pre-season and hope he hits on something that will work.    For a Club like ours, lets face it, the guy is out of his depth.

Can see Dennis Green being a strong contender for this one.  A guy with contacts all over the Country.  Made a big success over at St Neots, and word is he would have turned Histon around given time and a decent budget.  He gets my vote.

He would need to improve a lot from what i saw of him at Boston Town last season. Defty, more like hefty. :D  Was an Ok hold up type of player, and I know Tommy Taylor tried to get him here.

The B-Ark / Lynn Managers for Boston
« on: April 01, 2011, 10:33:21 AM »
There is a very stong rumour doing the rounds that the Joint Managers at Kings Lynn are being lined-up as the new Managers at Boston for the start of next season.  They were approached to take the job for the remainder of this season, but wanted to see the season through at Kings Lynn.   Has anyone else heard anything of this ?

I would have posted this after 12.00 noon in case anyone thought this was a wind-up.

How about Graham Drury from Corby, might be worth a sniff.  Or the 2 lads doing the job at Kings Lynn, both up and coming, and seem to be getting more right than wrong.

I thought Alex Rae was number 2 to Ince, does the offer to the special One, not amount to chief scout ?  ;D

Its obvious who should be given the job.   The Special One.  No not the Ex Chelsea special one, the other special one.  The one who could go up to Blatter with a brown envelope and say, "Listen Blatter, either we win this World Cup thing or I will put the Malkie on ya".  With all this guys contacts in Football, he has to be nailed on for the job. He even has a mate who will pay for the overnight  stays.  ;D

Great to hear  "The special one" mentioning the word "honest" twice.  Same old lines, different club.
