The B-Ark / Re: Worth a mention, HT against Telford
« on: October 12, 2015, 01:32:10 PM »
Well done to all involved in getting the Positive Pilgrims HT mini game arranged.

Walking back to the car after the final whistle I got chatting to a lad who played, he was absolutely over the moon with the support they got from the crowd.  He said he got two cheers, one for a good tackle and one when he got the ball booted into his face!

Many reasons I'm proud of our fantastic football club, the work the United in the Community guys do is one of the biggest.

Agreed, it is more than just a football team.  And the net is spread far and wide making us way, way more important than any of the village teams with money that frequent our division for a short while.

I think Robbins will both frustrate and entertain, possibly at the same time.

I'd have left Jona on over him personally as he had resorted to pointing marking when we were backs against the wall.

He is gonna have to last the game better if he is to be our saviour.

The B-Ark / Re: O/T Ticket Price Survey Results

In the Championship the average admission price paid was £15.65,

An element of misleading stats,  you'd be hard pressed to rock up somewhere at the weekend and watch Championship football for £15.

Had 0-0 written all over it until we capitulated.  They were no where near Solihull in ability and thought we had them at arms length.

Did their first look handball to everyone else?  After that it was a mess and we need to sort that, and fast.

The lad from County is certainly breathing down Jonas neck, he looked really useful when he came on.  An absolute handful although I'm not sure anyone could link with him like Dayle does Jona as I'm not sure he knows what he is going to do next.

Corby are decent, just a little powder puff in the important areas. Don't think Garner had much nuttering todo last night.

Raves looks very low on confidence, he looks nervous at the simplest of catches, although I'm not sure he is as terrible as has been made out on social media.

Realistically, Champions was never one the cards and anyone who thought that is too deluded to be considered a valuable opinion on whether the manager is good or not.

Getting a good start is as much about luck as it is preparation.  It's all about getting the team over the line come May.

For me it was another game where we were clearly the better side, yet were undone by lack of concentration and the other teams ability to grind out the result when we floundered.

Chorley had 1 approach, down the channel, back to the full back, whip it in to their 9 who won nothing.   We had that under control 1st half, second half we stopped getting to the crossing player.

We know Marrs is small for a full back, I don't blame him for being beaten to the ball on the crosses, we should have closed down the player to put him under pressure so the cross wasn't good enough, like we had been doing so well.

Bookies have Evans as one of the favourites... What?

Would love to be in the changing or board room when the owner, Fry and him all share a quiet difference of opinions, wow!

They're  dodgy peas in a pod football friends.

Defence, defence, defence. We are a team of defenders. Wouldn't it be nice to hear of an extra forward being brought in to worry the opposition into thinking we want to score goals against them. Southwell is formidable but not on his own. I know I am at risk of being got at by Jonahs relatives who post on here but of all the fellers, and ladies, who sit near me the majority think we could do better. Wasn't his main task to provide service to Southwell. Not much of that happening.

Leaking goals, and softs ones at that have been our issues.  I think shoring up at the back was the right thing to try.  At least in Walker you know you will get sporadic end product,  I got the impression he wasn't fit towards the back end of the season when his form dipped.

Friend has actually gone on another season long loan. This time to Kings Lynn.

TEP

Guess the player moaned about game time and they've decided to pull him because we weren't using him.  Understandable, but he didn't look ready for an assault on the Conference North

Sad that not even mentioned on club site. SW was a good servant of your club and you don't even mention or thank him for his work. Your media guy appears to have his hands tied for some reason?

I think there has to have been a good reason it's been kept hush.  You have to expect that the club is doing it right and for a reason.

He certainly hasn't been around the club for a while.

I'm similar about Rollins, he hasn't yet proved himself yet.

Interestingly the player he brings in on loan is southern based yet again.

But massive and certainly not soft.

Second half was a non-event, and the fact it took a mistake for them to score, shows it all..

A whole lot of huff and puff but no quality, but we're not allowed to call it that as they get upset.

A whole load of huff and puff and very little quality from either side.

Missed Pidge and Mills. Felix would have had their chunky fullback all game had he been fit.  Hoo hum, Tamworth was the more important of the two games as we cannot afford our home form to let us down.
You lost fair and square. Get over yourself.

Where did I say we didn't?

You took the chance that fell your way, we didn't take ours.  Games that are even generally become scrappy like that at any level.  And as a group of fans we're allowed to look at the game and work out where we would have stood had all the squad been fit and other players been available.

This is our forum is it not?
