The B-Ark / Re: Carshalton Town
« on: November 10, 2019, 08:55:19 AM »
Take a bow Craig Elliott, players, fans and most of all Mr Newton and Mr Kempster. £36000 in the bank and the prospect of more to come. Well done to all concerned.

Absolutely right Dave. Just consider this though, If Carshalton had won the £36000 plus what they had already earned would have given them around £70000 plus, that would have set them up for years to come. As it is it is us that have won that amount so it will just about cover this seasons rent. So yes we should be applauding David and Neil and thanking them for our very existence and enabling us to enjoy some fantastic moments.  UTP

Great result ,  not often I can relate to the tension and excitement of games by listening to the radio ,  but yesterday Mark Hone and Dale Storey on BBC Lincs did a great job really felt the atmosphere in my armchair at Boston .      Too much negativity as well Mel ,  Lets get a good draw on Monday and me can think of the "big boys " at YS for a great finale .

Your Carshallton  cash flow projection was slightly overstated Mel,   70K even at most clubs at  our level would hardly pay the wages and day to day running costs for a couple of months .  which puts into prospective the huge financial contribution of Chestnuts .

Where a Average club with a average cash flow playing slightly above average football (At times) so why change at this point. Oh i forgot after been spoilt with league 2 football its our god given right to beat every other team outside the league. reality check for some needed still

Well summed up .    The fact is some suggest we should achieve at least top 5 status .     When looking at the other teams competing in this league 10 other teams can put as good a case for top 5 spot .

Ian Culverhouse seems to be a popular name at the moment?!

It would be a popular move with for 21 of the Con North teams !

Just for sh1ts and giggles I hope its Evans......... 8)

They've done an amazing job considering gates were down to around 2000 when they took over, my guess is most of the JCL's will be gone in 18 months once they settle down to being a mid table 3rd division club. The Cowley's work should ensure that baring a catastrophic managerial appointment they have the foundations in place to establish themselves as a mid table club. However that won't be enough for their 'nu fans', who remembers when Big Keef was there and constant play off campaigns weren't good enough for many. Expect the gates to level off at about 5000 now.

Don't overlook the fact that Evans will have a close affinity with Lincoln due to having lots of relatives who have spent a lifetime in the city    has he had at  Boston . Cambridge  Stevenage ………...and any other town who have been seeking a manager over the last 20 years  ???

Let's hope not, but l fear George has probably either been punished for walking off last Saturday, or has carried on walking.

Or just not selected? We are in a position where we have more players than allowed in a matchday squad. For an away games, having the defender on the bench to cover 2 positions is more sensible, especally already having 2 other attacking options on the bench.

With 3 key players missing he has been unable to make the starting eleven .     no big deal if he's gone .

Some would say so Artemis. He won nothing and had many who didn't like him. Personally I thought he did well and I got on OK with him though.

Three top 6 finishes ins 3 consecutive season certainly the best managerial record under Chestnuts .     How far back do we have go to beat it .?
Don't think Evans got 3 top 6 finishes in consecutive years .
Unfortunately we probably have to go to the era/error of the fat, Scottish cheat to find the most recent one.

Sensible cover option for Jake Wright and the suspended duo.
Let's hope it is not the start of the revolving door.

If the revolving door does not revolve it means Knowles and Tuton are here for season .  P45 needed for these two .

Playing against 10 men doesn't mean it's going to be a guaranteed win. Sometimes the 10 really dig in and with everyone behind the ball, it can be a frustrating affair. Anyone that has played the game at a decent level knows this. Having said that, we're not firing on all cylinders at the moment. I think we have decent strikers, midfielders and defenders but we're lacking a little cohesion and creativity. Hopefully the enforced changes which will come about next week will help resolve this.

I'm not too fussed though. The league can't be won in August but you can pretty much cock it up if you have three or four defeats. This month is all about finding your feet, keeping it tight at the back and if you kick-start an unbeaten run then even better.

Disagree about the decent strikers TEP if you are referring to Knowles and Tuton .   Strikers should score goals !
