The B-Ark / Re: Jim Rodwell in Notts County takeover?
« on: February 14, 2010, 07:41:41 PM »
Makes you laugh how fans moan, they had a supporters trust but wanted to live the dream, what would they prefer a club out of business or a consortium.

Moan moan moan

A club with Jim Rodwell working in it and a club out of business are technically the same thing. ::)

TBH I find them to be secret squirrels not shinning knights

What the hell is a shinning knight? ???

Certainly not Mark but judging by the spelling mistakes I would hazard a guess you are a disgruntled Gainsborough or Grimsby fan trying to stir up trouble.  :)

Whoever decides to buy Chester would have to be a major mentalist of the George Reynolds or Bob Blackburn mould!

Those poor Notts County fans, first they had all the problems with the takeover at the start of the season and now the possibility of Rob-well taking over and maybe giving the keys to safe to McFraud!! One of the County fans must REALLY have upset someone!  :(

We also don't want to rush Milly back before he is completely ready and see him get injured again like what happened to Simon Rusk a few seasons ago.

I understand that Durham have new sponsors in place for next season so what could happen is they could stay up with 0 points this season and maybe win promotion next season (if they can replace their plastic pitch with a proper grass one, that is).

What b@ll@cks playing this tin pot worthless cup on a saturday pushing a worthwhile tin pot league game to midweek!

I totally agree, a weekend in Whitby watching the Pilgrims and enjoying some hopefully nice weather would have been perfect.

If the players haven't been paid after 3 months does this mean their contracts become nul and void and they can leave the club?

Would anyone on this board be pleased if we won this cup?  I'm going to watch the game tomorrow but only because it's Halifax, if we had been drawn against Curzon Ashton that wouldn't have got my attention nearly as much to be honest

If you look at last season, we kept the majority of our squad from BSN and look how well we did! Also Tom Matthews had a cracking season with us in BSN but now he's playing in the Unibond, if the standard was so much higher wouldn't he of got a deal with a BSN team?

I think part of the problem last season is that first we had a manager in Tommy Taylor who admitted before the start of last season that he didn't know anything about the Unibond League. Then his replacement, Steve Welsh, didn't have any first team management at all.  Having said that players like Ryan Clarke and Matt Bloomer couldn't or didn't want to get to grips with the physical nature of this league.

I would like to think that todays ref is worst we'll see at York Street this season but there's still another six games left to go for a new standard to be set!

Don't they have a winter break over there??

Yes but they have been playing friendlies for the last couple of weeks, Eldings played three games and scored in all of them.

On the subject of ex-Pilgrims I've heard that Anthony Elding has scored three goals in his last three games for his new Hungarian club (I'm not even going to attempt to try and spell it from memory).

How many clubs has Ricky Miller played for now?  He must be closing in on Trevor Benjamin's tally  :)
