Thanks Mick I was going to give it a miss but here goes. Worst ground in the league ramshackle and dangerous trying to get a perch where you can actually see the pitch. Said before kick off I would be happy with a point looking at the form book and no Hazel. After seeing such an ordinary Warrington I came away bitterly disappointed at the lack lustre performance of the team who without Hazel have absolutely no threat up front. Pleased the manager was as upset as us fans at the unacceptable standard we showed. Hopefully this was a one off poor display and will be a welcome point come the end of the season.

The B-Ark / Southport

First of all thanks to Mick and Co for the treat of being in the Acorn Taxis box today. As we talked before the game I stated I thought we were the equal to any team in this division and that we would sail into the playoffs and win promotion, a few raised eyebrows but I stand by my belief we are good enough to achieve it. Before this season we would have been drawn into a kicking match against this Southport side who were a disgrace to the game, but played good posession football to crush them. I don,t want to name any individuals as they all showed us how they have come together and are fast becoming a real team of substance. Lets all if we are able get to Warrington next week and again be the twelth man these boys deserve it. UTP.

A long journey but the lads sent us home very happy. First half they were on the front foot and it is great to see them play in that manner creating chances and indeed taking a couple of them (what a gem Hazel is). Second half they were always going to up their game but the defence were very solid and got to the ball first, time after time. A mention for Bossy who is playing brilliantly and consistently and this rubbing off on Tom Leake who is looking a real prospect. Another great away day on the party bus and well done all who made the trip you were certainly the 12th man. UTP. Sorry forgot to mention Woods who was my man of the match.

A great away day on Micks party bus, great to be joined by Paul Ellender for a couple of pints in a great pub.
On to the game, a scrappy first half with Scunny better all over the pitch, fell behind to a penalty that always seemed to be coming but equalised after a bit of a goal mouth scramble through Tom Leake, only to be done with a move down the right once again resulting in a tap in for Danny Elliots second goal. Second half changed a few things around and brought on Keaton Ward for an out of touch Smart taking their wingers out of the game and looking like a new team. I honestly think we dominated the game in that second half and fully deserved the equaliser, Scunny struggled to clear a set piece the ball fell to Jacob Hazel who calmly placed the ball in the bottom corner. Then what I really loved was with four minutes of added time to play we stayed on the front foot and went for the winner and I feel with a little more time we could well have come away with all the points. A wonderful following and tremendous support all game game which I feel gave the boys such a lift. Onward and upward lets build on this and carry on with the same fantastic support and we really have a chance of a great end to the season.  UTP.

The B-Ark / Great start to New Year
« on: January 01, 2024, 06:45:29 PM »
What a great start to the Year a wonderful gate of almost 2700 to see a revitalised Pilgrims side play the oposition off the park. I said last week on here that I thought Hazel was the best signing for a long time and today he proved that once again covering every inch of the pitch and scoring a beauty also winning a penalty for us. Running him close for man of the match has to Michael Boswick who also had a blinder however, all the team played their part. Onward to Scunthorpe next week let's all get behind the boys UTP.
