The B-Ark / End of season jam jar fund.
« on: April 24, 2019, 12:42:31 PM »
A huge sincere thank you to all my friends and loyal supporters who have donated to this fund. As you know this money will be used for the benefit of the fans in the new stadium and it will be you who generously built up this total ( so far ) who will decide how it will be spent. The collection will carry on and it would be lovely to grow it beyond the end of season amount of a wonderful 3,134 pounds and 66 pence. Again thank you UTP.

The B-Ark / Fans Forum
« on: April 10, 2019, 10:42:13 PM »
A full house for tonight's forum with some good quality questions and suggestions. I asked the first question which was "some people doubt the new stadium will ever be built can you please tell us here and now will the new stadium be built and when will we play in it"?  This was put back to be answered by David Newton when he brought everyone up to date with the progress. When he did this he fully explained in great detail all the work gone into to raise the 11.6 million required and although it was not all there yet explained where it will come from over the near future. It has been a close call to get an extra season at York Street as it is up for sale so it is 99% certain we will have to be in the new stadium for the start of the 20/21 season even if it is not 100% completed. Some good stuff from Craig Elliot which certainly gave me and I know many others encouragement for next season. A good suggestion was put forward that next season there should be some training sessions at York street open for fans to attend and get closer to the players. Craig welcomed that and said he would love to hear of any ideas from supporters that got the team and fans closer. Hope this has been helpful for those not able to be there tonight.
PS The Chairman said fans don't have to wait for a forum to ask questions, He is at most home and away games and is more than happy to update when approached.

The B-Ark / Scandalous remarks by Mark Isaacs.
« on: April 02, 2019, 06:13:19 PM »
Following the scandalous remarks by the above individual today on this forum re the jam jar collection which has led to him being banned, I want to assure everyone that every penny donated by the wonderful people who support it is accounted for and all the paperwork involved and bank details are available for all to see. I also pledge to carry on with the collection and will not be put off by anyone with motives not in the best interest of Boston United FC and it's Supporters.

The B-Ark / Community day.
« on: March 31, 2019, 09:07:16 AM »
How fantastic to see all the families taking part in the many activities on offer and then to see them all watching the game almost 1500 gate, a great turn out. This is what has been sadly lacking at York Street where I have made my feelings known about a poor match day experience, I am sure there will be many of those kids bringing their Dads Grandads etc again particularly if this match day experience becomes a regular feature. Well done to all concerned.

So it has been announced there is to be a fans forum in a couple of weeks. A chance for all those who question the Manager and Board on here to ask them to their faces. As it is a fans forum I ask the question is it open to Ex Fans?

The B-Ark / A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS.
« on: December 21, 2018, 01:12:43 PM »
Wishing all the wonderful supporters on this forum a very Happy Christmas. I have the utmost respect for the way almost every post is worth a read with the vast majority accepting other members have views that they may not agree with but treating them and replying with respect. This not always the case on other forums so we should be proud to be members of this group. Also a big thank you to Dr Ken who makes this possible.
UTP.

Chris has kindly said he will make a generous donation to my jam jar fund if we can get this done. Thank You.  UTP

The B-Ark / Jam Jar fund raiser
« on: April 27, 2017, 07:58:53 PM »
As promised an update, after just three weeks of launching this fund raiser I have banked £1240. This is fantastic. Thank you everyone who has dropped in full jars of coin or donated or dropped change in my bucket in the Pilgrims Lounge. Please carry on filling your jars throughout the closed season to get us off to a flyer next season. This is an on going appeal and a painless way of raising money for our club to move it forward both on and off the field. If anyone would like to donate other than by way of jam jars please pm me.   UTP.

The B-Ark / Football nothing to do with supporters.
« on: March 18, 2016, 08:06:57 PM »
It is accepted that  our despicable government will not do anything that adversely effects the rich and powerful and does not give a fig about the rest. It has now blocked plans to allow football fans a stake in their clubs and seats on their boards.
Clive Efford MP proposed the Football Governance ( Supporters Participation ) Bill which would have reserved up to a quarter of seats on clubs boards for elected fans. Official fans organisations which the bill would have recognised in law, Would have been offered a 10 per cent stake in the ownership of their clubs.
Tory sports minister David Evenett rejected the plan saying the Government did not want to legislate on the issue and that he hoped the FA would voluntarily involved fans in its decision making process after a future governance review he says, "Unfortunately the Government are not able to support the Bill and are opposing it".
Mr Efford accused the Government of dragging out previous debates leading to the Bill not being discussed in detail.
Other countries have legislation to ensure fan participation in their football clubs. In Germany football clubs must be majority owned by their supporters by law a by far stricter measure than that proposed in the Bill.
Similar rules apply in Sweden and Argentina while in Spain Barcelona, Atletico Bilbao and Real Madrid are all fan owned.
Like I headed this piece football has nothing to do with supporters particularly at the higher levels. It seems to me that the only time fans can get involved is for a club to go bust and re invented by the fans or set up a new club such as FCUM who may I remind everyone charge £9 tops for a game.
Please don't get the idea I am having ago at our club, far from it Mr Newton is on record that he would like to in the future hand over the club to supporters. All I am doing is showing that this Government don't give a second thought regarding the fans.  UTP.
