Yes we will put some more seating on the dance floor, because there were some spare chairs on the stage not being used. I didn't notice them at the time, so sorry about that. We want to keep everyone happy, it's no good just complaining between yourselves, just let us know what the problem is and we will try to sort it out.

Re: The entertainment, what does everyone think about the acts booked so far? ...we are trying to get a wide variety of acts from the start with a 60's night with Crooked Finger first on the 5th September and then a Blues night (don't be put off by Blues, the band Vanilla Smooth sing a variety of covers from Amy Winehouse, Katie Melua, Eric Clapton and Van Morrison to Frank Sinatra) on the 12th, followed by a great night of Motown & Northern Soul with DJ Martin Topley and Soul Singer Glen Franklin. Then finally for September we have a cracking Rat Pack night with singer Sean Andrew.

Entrance for the 60's, Blues & rat Pack nights is £2 a ticket or £3 on the door and for the Motown Night tickets are £3 and £5 on the door, all tickets available from behind the Bar, United Box Office and Chris Cook Print.

Don't forget about our Comedy Club, our first event is on Saturday 3rd October and we have 3 comedians and a compere appearing and the price is ticket only at £8 including a FREE Hot Dog!

Please support our new venture, we do appreciate all the support we get as a whole. Keep supporting The Pilgrims!

One of the main reasons for putting a kitchen in was being able to provide both sets of players with hot meals after the game just like the majority of non league clubs do nowadays. Previously we would supply a tray of sandwiches in the dressing room and the players would consume these then get on the bus or in their car and go home, hopefully this is another way of meeting the players, we have had loads of complaints over the last few years that the United players in particular never ever came into the Sports Bar to integrate with the fans, so this is another way of making them do just that.

Unfortunately they do have to sit somewhere and when you have two squads of 20 players it definitely takes a lot of space up, but it would only be for about quarter of an hour from around 5.15 to 5.30. The players should be more polite in asking people to move and will be told so but we are learning every week so comments are appreciated.

No, honestly these are proper comedians and it promises to be a cracking night. Not only can you get your tickets from the Pilgrim Lounge, United Box Office and Chris Cook Print, but you can buy them online at www.wegottickets.com/event/56970

I think the two young lads are Carl Runger, who used to be John's Kit Man, and Andrew Malkinson. Stood behind JB is former Matchday Announcer Nick Thompson.

If you are starting from Pilgrims Way, which is very close to Fishtoft, just walk through Fishtoft village past the Red Cow and down to the pumping station, saves you coming back on yourself.

The B-Ark / Re: Keeper
« on: July 22, 2009, 09:40:16 AM »
If you are that qualified surely you would know that keepers are a differant breed. They don't get regular places in teams til their mid 20's and the old pros take up all the spots in League 1&2 due to going on way beyond the outfield players in a position only one player can fill.

How many of the current League 2 teams and probably Conference have Keepers under the age of 30. I know we didn't in the league and saw quite a few aging names on our travels. The young players have to play somewhere and come from somewhere when they move up. I'd suggest the trend fits outfield players and the bridge to Semi-pro is a one way draw bridge, but for keepers I'm not so sure.
...just ask Joe Hart!

Brilliant, keep it going ....I like Kempsters Kamp! ...and 'Bloomers' is a cracker as well, but I think you would have to explain the reasoning behind that!

The venue is going to be great when it's finished, brand new kitchen for food at the weekends, and functions. Completely new carpet, decoration and furniture .....and a total re-fit of the toilets (thank god for that!).

It hopefully will be the place to be at weekends in Boston, and throughout the week it will be utilised in many ways.
