I don't know how many of you on here frequent reddit but I did notice they have adopted Redditch as their "soccer" board's official club.

It's fairly entertaining reading the comments of obvious Perm. League supporters asking how many levels they are below and if they are going to be promoted this year...

Here's the link to their board if you're interested or have nothing better to do >> http://www.reddit.com/r/Redditch/

The B-Ark / Redditch Fans
« on: August 22, 2010, 09:16:00 AM »
I'm surprised no one has mentioned it on here yet but the Redditch fans were wonderful.

I know we're all to busy getting carried away with the result but we should remember to say thank you for the contribution that their fans made.  They put on free food 'from their fans to ours' pre-game and during the game they never stopped singing, even when nine down.  Apparently they are a fan owned club with only fifteen thousand pounds of debt, a fantastic achievement for a club at this level.

So, I'd like to say a big THANK YOU to all the Redditch fans yesterday, possibly the best fans I've ever met at an away game, and I'd also like to suggest a reduced entry fee for them when they play us at York St if possible.

Some class product advertising placement on the Boston Standard website...

Not sure why, but the link seems to keep changing. Hopefully I've managed to fix it now.

The B-Ark / Idiot Millwall fan

Brilliant thread here from a Millwall forum.  'Stuwall' doesn't understand why he can't buy a ticket for his regular seat for their league game against Charlton, despite already explaining that he has a season ticket for it... Very funny and well worth a read.

Apparently the Ref. was totally against them.

Unibond have ended their sponsorship deal with the Northern Premier League after 17years.

I wonder who, if anyone, they have lined up to replace Unibond?

For those of you who're interested in the goings on just across the boarder.

The King's Lynn phoenix club looks likely to play in the Ridgeons League (level nine) in 10/11 season, having been granted a 25year lease on The Walks stadium.

Good news, finally, for Lynn.

The B-Ark / Durham
« on: December 11, 2009, 11:47:04 AM »
Durham have been charged by the FA. Not sure what the punishment will be but it's fairly nailed on that they are guilty as they reported themselves.

From a Evening Chronicle Website press release:

Quote
CRISIS club Durham City face disciplinary action from the FA after they were charged with playing an ineligible player in the UniBond Premier Division games at Bradford Park Avenue and King’s Lynn.

Rock bottom Durham played new signing Josh Home-Jackson in both games – a 7-1 defeat at Bradford and an 11-0 mauling at King’s Lynn.

Jackson had been sent off for previous club Chester-le-Street Town, landing a three-match ban which included the two away games.

To compound matters, and sure to increase the punishment from the FA, Home-Jackson played under a false name in both games.

The former Sunderland trainee has also been charged by the FA and faces a probable fine and suspension under FA rule E10, but Collings has claimed responsibility.

He said: “As manager, the buck stops with me. We only had 13 players in both games, and that included three 16-year-olds and two goalkeepers.

“Our secretary Danny Day, who has since resigned, had not received notification that Home-Jackson was suspended and we took a gamble.

“It was wrong to play him under a false name and I hold my hands up to that, but we were not seeking an advantage as we expected to lose both games, which we did heavily.

“We were down to the bare bones but I have accepted the reprimand from the club and the imposed two-week touchline ban.”

The docking of points by the FA would be ironic as Durham City have yet to pick up one in their opening 20 games.

A club statement said: “After an internal investigation the club reported itself to the Durham FA and took strong disciplinary action against the manager, Lee Collings, and assistant Richard Ord.

“Both Durham City and the individuals concerned deeply regret these incidents and have made a number of organisational changes to ensure that such actions are never repeated.”

Collings, who has taken Durham City to consecutive promotions and is working without payment this season, has been given a first and final written warning by the club.

The B-Ark / Rent
« on: December 01, 2009, 07:52:33 PM »
I don't know if this has been mentioned on here but apparently the game on Saturday nearly didn't go ahead.

From what I've been told the club failed to pay the rent due on York St, it was only DN paying out of his own pocket that ensured the gates weren't locked.

I don't know about anyone else but I'm more than a little worried about that, DN can't and wont keep paying forever.
