The B-Ark / Guiseley

Well, that was a real sickener. I thought we played the best I've seen so far, but failed to take the chances. On the plus side, I casted via my PC upstairs to the TV downstairs (rather than via my phone) and it worked very well.

The B-Ark / Next signing.....

Glad to see we've signed a right back with plenty of experience. https://www.bostonunited.co.uk/news/tootle-pens-united-contract-2561267.html

Does anyone know what's happening with Dominic Knowles? He doesn't appear on the squad page, and I don't recall seeing anything about him.

I see in the NLP he's gone to Scarborough. With Whittle going as well, there's an opportunity for a left back......

The B-Ark / Fund-raising

It may be tonight's wine talking, but what about these ideas (I apologise if they've been mentioned elsewhere):

1] When my other team (Derby) relaid the infamous Baseball ground pitch, they offered mementos of the old pitch, as in the photo I hope I've attached (haven't tried this before). I'd certainly buy a sample of the York Street pitch.

2] I have a framed photo of the old Baseball ground (a rather unatmospheric aerial view, unfortunately). I'd love an atmospheric photo of York Street.

and

3] Like the rest of you, I've no idea what's going to happen next season (or even this, at the time of writing). I feel the Chestnuts deserve as much support as people are able to give, and I will buy a season ticket for next year even if I don't see a ball kicked in the flesh.

It probably is the wine, but that's how I feel!

The B-Ark / New Ground
« on: May 29, 2020, 08:45:43 AM »
I made my first visit to Boston yesterday since lockdown to see my very elderly parents (in the garden, distancing observed, of course) and drove past the new ground. What those of us out of the area who rely on the helpful webcam can't see is how much progress has been made with the entrance side of the main stand. It really is beginning to look very impressive and gives me great confidence. Well done to everyone. UTP!

Has anybody got a report on it? I wasn't able to get there and would be interested to hear what went on. Thanks.

The B-Ark / Ex League Clubs in National Leagues
« on: April 26, 2018, 02:24:08 PM »
This has probably been aired before and I've missed it, but there seem to be 7 ex league clubs in National North (if one is generous to reformed BPA and Darlington) but none in National South. I have no conclusion to draw from this - it's just an observation!

Glad to see that he's signed a new contract.

The B-Ark / Alan White
« on: December 28, 2014, 12:41:32 PM »
Spending Christmas in the NE, I went along to see two re-formed clubs (Darlington v Scarborough) on Boxing Day. Managed a very quick word with Alan White before the game, as I was keen to tell him that he was one of my favourite players during our league years. He's still going strong (for Darlington, who won 3-0) at 38, still giving it everything - he was named Man of the Match!

Never thought I'd read a match report that referred to 'big-spending Skegness'! I see Joby Gowshall is there.
