The B-Ark / On the road to nowhere.....
« on: April 14, 2012, 06:23:24 PM »
And quite frankly we've been on that same road ALL season.......despite their vast football league experience and despite the fact that they are decent guys JL and LC have been unable to deliver a competitive team to the paying public....whilst the club seems to be progressing well off field with good sponsors etc,on the field where it counts the club urgently needs a change of direction.....we are going backwards.....compare the BUFC and GTFC teams who played each other today at YS with the same two teams who played each other at The Northolme at Christmas....one team has got stronger, one is falling apart at the seams......supporters won't put up with these totally inadequate performances and today's gate which included 146ish from GT showed that.....

I say,we need to change the managers.... otherwise gates will be down to 800 next season...

The B-Ark / vs Worcester......
« on: March 27, 2012, 10:39:41 PM »
I was one of the 841 odd hardy sould tonight at YS.....a  really entertaining game IMO with the referee amazingly awarding 3 penaltys in the game....Once again a lack of defensive concentration cost us for all of their 3 goals.....We could have gone 3-2 up at 2-2 but SWD failed at the vital moment when it looked easier to score than miss....Ross played well,Sleath hobbled off and was on crutches at the end of the game......Some Posters  on this board will be pleased that TW didnt start but his replacement Austin had a very average game IMO.....Stainfield is still very raw but a good Coach could improve and develop him....I guess it really is over now....

The B-Ark / ABSOLUTE GARBAGE.....
« on: January 10, 2012, 10:22:22 PM »
As a very long standing UNited supporter and season ticket holder I feel that I am entitled to pass comment on tonight's performance v BS.......to summarise IMO we are absolute garbage...

-our players are lacking in basic coaching....they seem totally incapable of doing the simple basic things
-we have no game plan and look absolutely clueless from the kick-off
-our managers seem to be set on playing 4-3-3 all the time, every game. But FFS football and tactics are   evolving all the time. Our style of football is dated.

The frustrating thing is,IMO, we have some excellent players at the club.Ross,Bazza,Semple,Jellyman,Ward and Austin perhaps,Newsham and SLeath on a good day are as good as any in our league.....
They all need coaching properly......and we all know who's job that is....
We can't carry on like this....these are desperate times....

The B-Ark / Wingers........
« on: January 07, 2012, 05:20:41 PM »
Wingers.......

: Give you more options
: Spread the play and give you more width against a packed defence
: Are obviously essential when you are up against two well organised banks of four defenders
: Sometimes score goals......

It's a pity that our two managers didn't realise that Blythe Spartans pack their defence, and it's a shame that it took most of today's game for them to realise that they would never score playing the way we were (ie. with no wingers).

FFS don't they watch our next opponents before playing them, and more importantly it ain't rocket science to think about the above points....

They need to wise up....fast...

The B-Ark / no segregation....and no police
« on: November 19, 2011, 07:08:35 PM »
for goodness sake the disgraceful crowd scenes at the Northolme today could and should have been avoided....the stewards seemed spooked by the whole affair and didnt know what to do.....whether BUFC or GTFC "fans" started it is irrelevent.....it happened because GT skimped and didnt pay for any "proper police" in their biggest game of the season-disgraceful....if we have to have segregation at York Street to accommodate their 26 it should have been common sense in a game of this magnitude....poor show Trinity

The B-Ark / a few FACTS....
« on: September 10, 2011, 06:43:23 PM »
> We have scored one goal (an own goal at that against the mighty Vauxhall Motors) in 4 home games.
>We are over run in every game in midfield....yet today we only played 2 in the middle again.
>We played 2 centreforwards today vs Solihull, and thaey both cancelled each other out.
>Our best ,sharpest goalscorer, Newsham,is wasted in my opinion in midfield.
>Our 2 full backs must be the lightest ever in Conference history.
>Our players are being mis managed.
>We aint good enough by a mile.

It needs sorting out.....................

The B-Ark / Todays Trophy Game......
« on: January 15, 2011, 06:19:21 PM »
A disappointing result (£6000 would have come in very handy) but a spirited performance never-the-less with a depleted team.....Gloucester are a physical team (nothing wrong with that) but we couldnt compete with them....it was a big shame that we didnt play to OUR strengths and keep the ball on the ground, rather than try and play and match them their way.....we left it too late to start to play but were unlucky on several occassions in the closing few minutes.....
Incidentally, how the"officials"failed to spot a blatent handball by Coleman on the line (some people in the ground said it was over the line)during the opening exchanges is beyond belief......

The B-Ark / 955...............
« on: January 11, 2011, 11:02:09 PM »
Thats how many people bothered to turn up at York Street tonight.....when was the last time we had an attendance figure for a league game of less than 1000?.....For goodness sake I  know theres a recession etc,but 955 is really disappointing IMO.....we are 5th in the league, playing decent footie, and theres a buzz about the club so where was everybody tonight ? It wasnt THAT cold.......

The B-Ark / .........PILGRIMS LOUNGE at Christmas........
« on: December 20, 2009, 08:04:30 PM »
........Having sampled one of BUFCs Christmas Saturday night "dos" myself recently,I would like to thoroughly recommend these to any "doubters" that remain out there....Excellent Christmas turkey meal with pate starter and Christmas pud! yum!......The disco/entertainment was ok aswell......If you are still looking for a venue for your Christmas party I would certainly recommend it (assuming there are any spaces left).....Enjoy!

The B-Ark / .......MUGGED...............
« on: November 28, 2009, 09:42:32 PM »
Cracking game today vs Burscough..........However I think we all felt that the result seemed like a defeat.....we should have scored loads today,a combination of wasteful finishing and bad luck cost us in the end....they had 3 efforts directly at goal and scored 3.....we had loads but couldnt convert....in the end our inability to defend at setpieces cost us again.......it was perhaps,on reflection,a mistake to not play Liam Parker........however-onwards and upwards.........

The B-Ark / ......BUFCs young guns........
« on: September 24, 2009, 06:33:36 PM »
...........reading a few posts recently which have been made since the Retford game at York Street, there has been some comments made by various Posters about some of our young players, and in particular Simon Ashton........Lets look at the situation realistically......SA came on,unexpectedly I would imagine,as an early substitute for one of our established central defenders......straight into the action in front of his hometown crowd and in a "big"(at this level) midweek game.....Gosh! he must have been nervous-wouldnt you be?.......People around me were saying after the .game how well he had done......I think it was his home league debut for the Pilgrims......so it amazes and disappoints me to read some other Posters criticising the lad......Young players such as SA are the future of the club-we need to be encouraging them not discouraging them......sure they will make mistakes (everybody does sometimes) -its a learning curve......we dont want them suddenly quitting the club for pastures new when the club have spent time and money developing them......So when SA plays again,or indeed any of our other younger players, lets remember that they are just starting out in their careers and lets be positive and not negative about their contributions eh?..........

The B-Ark / ....WOT NO WINGERS........
« on: September 19, 2009, 05:21:09 PM »
....another turgid boring home display from the Pilgrims today vs a well organised Whitby team................
...our 4-4-2 system (IMO) is too rigid-theres no flexibility in it......I cant see us losing too many games but because weve got no creativity anywhere in the team,we aint gonna win many either.....WE NEED A WINGER....you know what a winger is dont you?....one of those skillful chappies who hug the touchline, try and get past their marker and deliver a cross for one of our (very tall) strikers to head goalwards....it aint rocket science.....Sir Alf Ramsay won the world cup without wngers but we aint gonna win the Unibond Premier (IMO) without one......
