The manager so poor he's taken a village side to a higher place finish than us!

Q.E.D.

That's a bit disrespectful to Buxton, however they are being bankrolled somewhat and that's why Elliot is there, if they were being run on a sustainable budget he'd be nowhere near them.

We all know it was Richard who was the brains behind the recruitment, the fact is Elliott hopelessly failed to get a tune out of a bunch of players who have proven themselves to be winners in a properly managed environment.  You seem to base your respect for Elliott on him being a nice guy, which he was, but he came up woefully short when it mattered in the big games.

And lets be honest, given the shambles of last summer's recruitment it took a pretty poor side to finish below us, it was no achievent to finish above us last season!

Well done to Boston's other team in getting promoted. Five ex Boston players or six if it was the same Jordan Richards that played for us.

which rather supports my constant assumption they were poorly managed by CE...........

That side would have cantered the league last season with a decent manager

Just so you all know Mick Small is running a bus as for the first time in over 20 years BUSA aren't taking one.

I'm sure you'll have Mick's contact details as he's very active online but if you have any doubt contact the club.

It was a strike pair for me that didn’t last too long due to a nasty injury….Lumby and Garwood…. Ernest Malkinson dug deep to pay 2 top strikers to drop out of the league and their class (and goals) showed.

Absolutely this.....

If Garwood hadn't broken his ankle a fortnight before the Blades game I'm convinced we'd have beaten them. Him and Jim Lumby were proper hard working old fashioned centre forwards fed with bullets by Gary Mallender, Dave Gilbert and Gary Jones.

A proper fox in the box, no pace but an amazing knack of being in the right place at the right time.

My favourite season ever, only 2 home defeats all season, a good FA Cup and Trophy run, some cracking away days and a team that really entertained.

It all fell away after Dagenham beat us in the trophy, we lost at home to champions Enfield the week after and won 1 of about the next 7 or 8 to finish 4th when we had a realistic championship ambition in late March.

The B-Ark / Fan Engagement
« on: February 22, 2023, 04:44:14 PM »
The club has never had so many employees as it has now, yet fan engagement is at an all time low.

Its back to the 80's and 90's where communication was almost non existent and confined to a privileged handful of people.

I'll be honest, I couldn't care less about how some non entity from Nottingham is getting on with his calf injury, but I am interested to hear what the clubs plans are going forward.I'd love to know what the plans are if we are relegated, and what structures are put in place to ensure this shambles of a season aren't repeated and going forward is there a desire for Conference National football in my lifetime

If there is a plan other than trying to sell out hospitality every week........

Anyone would think the club are quietly hoping that by saying nothing they'll hope this whole mess of a season will slip quietly by and the fans won't notice.

It says a lot that a fan led voluntary statistical account posts more than the club, that should be a source of great embarrassment.

The B-Ark / Big 3 points

Not great to watch but a big 3 points against historically tough opponents.

Goalkeeper MotM for me.

keep nicking wins like that and we'll be OK.

I hope it makes the idiots stop and think before they go destroying any more toilets in the future.

Doubtful but a nice sentiment.

Although we have every right to question his managerial appointments there is no questioning DN when it comes to doing the right thing. And thats absolutely the right thing.

I do seem to remember him giving free admission to KLFC season ticket holders when the old club went under, shame they don't see fit to reciprocate when we visit.........

I did ask Joe Simpson on Twitter if we actually have any scouts now and to his credit he replied and said yes, we do. No names mentioned but they do exist, apparently!

Amazing really.

And I absolutely don't buy the old line about "its difficult to attract players to Boston".

No its not, people want to play for us, they don't want to be part of the absolute shambles we become in the last 8 or 9 months though.

1st home game for me since the opening day and to be quite honest I'm struggling to see any improvement or any way this team will avoid relegation.

Seconds before Gloucester's 1st goal we were saying how comfortable we looked and how we should be seeing the game out and then an absolute comedy of errors let to one of the worst goals you'll ever see, and the 2nd goal was no better.

The team looks so weak, no one big enough to take on the opposition's bigger, more physical players and as a result we're very easy to play through and against. If Gloucester are top 10 it shows the absolute paucity of this league, and shame on the club for getting in the position where we're one of the worst sides in it.

And it also illustrates the grievous loss of Richard the scout when Elliott left, he could spot a player and its to his credit he brought the caliber of player he did into the club even if Elliott couldn't manage or coach them into a cohesive unit.

Sorry but I'll not be back for a long time on that showing, in my book this is the poorest side I've seen in 45 years, this team is relegation bound.

If Kings Lynn play anywhere close to the 1st half against Stevenage the other week it'll be 4 or 5 by half time.

Like you say, I can't remember collective expectations being lower at any time in the last 40+ years, how its go to this after the unexpected play off final appearance 7 months ago is hard to fathom but suffice to say IC has his biggest ever job on just to keep the club in this division.

Take two beatings on the chin and hope to rebuild after Xmas is the realistic expectation, 1 point out of the two games would surpass anything from this woefully inadequate team.

Make sure you have a wee before you go in Prof :D  They let my mate out to have one, then would not let him back in.  Horrible ground, horrible view and horrible stewards.

You make it sound like The JCS Mick..........

Where are the scouts, you ask Pete?

Well we had a really good one in Richard but sadly he's gone with Elliot to Buxton. It was he, not Elliott who's the big miss here, he could find a player, even the loan boys, the problem was Elliott couldn't get a tune out of them, or possibly the players didn't like the tune they were being asked to play.

But we're now seeing the complete folly of not appointing these two in the first place. Was Cox the cheap option? Did IC & PB price themselves out of the job initially? We'll never know but with every terrible result and new depths being plumbed seemingly every week or so it makes you wonder what went through the chairman's mind last January. And by that I mean appointing Cox, not dispensing with Elliott who clearly had lost the dressing room.

He's at the highest level he'll manage at. And at Boston Utd the biggest club he'll manage with all due respect to you.

Always finds a way to lose the important games though.

Spends too much time bigging up opponents and not enough time concentrating on his own sides strengths, of which there were many.

Having said that he's a good bloke and he'll make sure Buxton are competitive, he builds good teams but Richard his assistant is the key.

I wish him well, like a lot of coaches he went stale here and a poor run last December did for him. Not that he should be blamed solely, the team absolutely downed tools towards the end as confirmed by comments from players after his departure.

Hope it works out better than Dayle Southwell, Zak Mills, Paul Cavell...!!

I also hope it's for more than a month, too. We really can't go on with this constant churn of players.

Nearly on my level of cynicism there Peter, you go steady.

SP was THE stand out post FL player for me, as long as people don't expect too much he'll be a huge improvement on anything PC bought this summer. A leader has been conspicuous by its absence for a few years, hopefully he plugs that gap.
