Oh I buy it, if only to ready idiotic letters like that one from that Townender chap the other week......and assorted small town councilors trading insults over things no one cares about!

As an aside I see today's Standard has no mention at all of BUFC (or FC) in 7 pages of sport.

I still think the Target has been utter gash with its coverage since Rob Singleton left but at least it made an effort this week, even if it is a recycled Echo article.

Did Dave Cusack once manage a veriation of D&R?  Took a lot of our good players with him.  I could be wrong, old age and all that ;D

Paul Shrtliff, John Mckenna,Paul Cavell & Paul Richardson all took the Redbridge Forest money, not too sure if Cusack was manager there then though.......I think by the time he went the greedy players and agents and hangers on had taken most of the cash from the ground sales etc.

Best of luck to them. Most fans on both sides have moved on, the playing staff here and there have completely changed.......rivalries come and go, they are now the big club, there's 4 divisions between us now.

It could have been us though........couldn't it?

As you probably know there's a set of cards made about 20 years ago with the BUFC Legends from the 1940's to about 1990. There's 24 names in total which comes out at about 5 for every 10 years. The current list is

Ernest Malkinson
Tommy Lowder
Billy Howells
John Lakin
Howard Wilkinson
Gordon Bolland
Bobby Svarc
John Froggatt
Arthur Mann
Jim Smith
Harry Sharpe
Mike Alexander
Brian Bates
Paul Shirtliff
Gary Jones
Dave Adamson
Dave Poplar
Ray Middleton
John McKenna
Jim Conde
Jim Kabia
Martin Hardy
Cookie
Fred Tunstall

As 20 years have passed since those cards were made how about adding another 8 or 10 names to that list? I know I asked about this a few years ago and the Evans apologists hijacked the vote but as he's now been exposed as the convicted fraudster, self confessed liar and proven cheat that he really is his is the only name that won't be considered. Legends can be off beat like Chris Withe, Martin Filson,Leroy Chambers or Jason Lee, crowd favourites like Peter Costello, Daryl Clare, and Andy Kirk or just daft like Emmanuel Gabrielli, Stuart Douglas and Andy Porter.

No doubt Chalker will tell us how many people have played for the 1st team since 1991, my guess is about 300, so there's plenty to go at.

The choice is yours.........

And looking at the bigger picture, Dagenham look a good bet to be playing in League 1 next season despite only taking 29 away on a Tuesday......

I'd rather be in their shoes than ours.

It will be Cotterill's greatest achievement to date if he does anything at Coventry. I think it now 9 years since they were relegated from the Premiership and in all that time they've never got close to the play offs and have gone through about 8 managers. Add to that the fact they sold Highfield Rd to pay off debts and now rent the Ricoh Arena and are still massively in debt and you can see another very likely candidate for administration.

Of course Coventry's problems will seem insignificant if the person LP alludes to gets the Notts job........ :-\

200?

I couldn't see that well but I've had guessed double that.

I stand to be corrected of course.
