The B-Ark / Update the BUFC Legends list.
« on: May 25, 2010, 08:53:32 PM »
As you probably know there's a set of cards made about 20 years ago with the BUFC Legends from the 1940's to about 1990. There's 24 names in total which comes out at about 5 for every 10 years. The current list is

Ernest Malkinson
Tommy Lowder
Billy Howells
John Lakin
Howard Wilkinson
Gordon Bolland
Bobby Svarc
John Froggatt
Arthur Mann
Jim Smith
Harry Sharpe
Mike Alexander
Brian Bates
Paul Shirtliff
Gary Jones
Dave Adamson
Dave Poplar
Ray Middleton
John McKenna
Jim Conde
Jim Kabia
Martin Hardy
Cookie
Fred Tunstall

As 20 years have passed since those cards were made how about adding another 8 or 10 names to that list? I know I asked about this a few years ago and the Evans apologists hijacked the vote but as he's now been exposed as the convicted fraudster, self confessed liar and proven cheat that he really is his is the only name that won't be considered. Legends can be off beat like Chris Withe, Martin Filson,Leroy Chambers or Jason Lee, crowd favourites like Peter Costello, Daryl Clare, and Andy Kirk or just daft like Emmanuel Gabrielli, Stuart Douglas and Andy Porter.

No doubt Chalker will tell us how many people have played for the 1st team since 1991, my guess is about 300, so there's plenty to go at.

The choice is yours.........

Be thankful there's a club left to support, making demands of Dave Newton is bang out of order. If it hadn't been for him and Neil there'd be a pile of bricks on York St now and a week last Saturday wouldn't have happened.

We've come a long way in a season, lets remember that.

H      Mar 20, 2010     15:00     Nantwich Town     UniBond Premier
A    Mar 24, 2010    19:45    Whitby Town    UniBond Premier

A    Apr 05, 2010    15:00    Hucknall Town    UniBond Premier
H    Apr 10, 2010    15:00    Guiseley    UniBond Premier
A    Apr 14, 2010    19:45    Worksop Town    UniBond Premier
H    Apr 17, 2010    15:00    FC United Manchester    UniBond Premier
A    Apr 24, 2010    15:00    Marine    UniBond Premier

So whats a realistic points haul from the last 9 games?

27 points up for grabs.

We can afford a defeat and a couple of draws possibly.........my money is on 22 points with possibly a draw to Guiseley and a slip up at either Whitby or Marine.

Will it be enough? Possibly not, but play offs are looking very nailed on now.

Ipswich are a very well collected club but this has taken me by surprise, I expected about £120......shows what I know! I was going to have £75 as a treat but I can wait, it'll come up again somewhere else.

Whats all this 'we', I thought you supported BUFC, not Everton!  :D :D

From the BBC live updates on the Everton game tonight.

1756: Remember the brilliant Portuguese fans at Euro 2004? Well this lot from Lisbon have not shut up yet, which at least gives me something to write about in a quiet opening period.

From HugoScheckter on Twitter: "Fellaini out for six months? It's going to be tough to get into the Europa spots this year now... Unless we keep Donovan!!"

I assume the name Hugo Scheckter isn't the most common......

look to be in some serious trouble at the foot of the BS North.

I'd like to know how much Swann has chucked at the club this season, the rumor is Brian Little is on £110,000 pa! :o :o :o

All that big talk in pre season about promotion too, just shows money can't buy success.
