The B-Ark / Re: Fans Forum

A full house for tonight's forum with some good quality questions and suggestions. I asked the first question which was "some people doubt the new stadium will ever be built can you please tell us here and now will the new stadium be built and when will we play in it"?  This was put back to be answered by David Newton when he brought everyone up to date with the progress. When he did this he fully explained in great detail all the work gone into to raise the 11.6 million required and although it was not all there yet explained where it will come from over the near future. It has been a close call to get an extra season at York Street as it is up for sale so it is 99% certain we will have to be in the new stadium for the start of the 20/21 season even if it is not 100% completed. Some good stuff from Craig Elliot which certainly gave me and I know many others encouragement for next season. A good suggestion was put forward that next season there should be some training sessions at York street open for fans to attend and get closer to the players. Craig welcomed that and said he would love to hear of any ideas from supporters that got the team and fans closer. Hope this has been helpful for those not able to be there tonight.
PS The Chairman said fans don't have to wait for a forum to ask questions, He is at most home and away games and is more than happy to update when approached.
I agree with everything you have just put and also the fact that (anyone) can approach David Newton at any home or away game and ask him a question instead of just slagging him off on here or other forums.

Sounds like a lot of positives came out of last night's forum.

Was CE asked anything about this seasons recruitment, why he got it so badly wrong & how he will go about it differently next season??£
why didn't you email the club with your questions ??? But yes he did get asked and he admitted he got a few things wrong and he knows what he needs to do to improve the squad.

In Craig's interview he says he wants to keep in games and was happy with a draw today,he's always saying how good the opposition is and that supporters don't give other teams the respect they deserve, doesn't he want fans to get excited about there team winning ,no I don't think he does or he would give them something to shout about and feel part of something good. I don't understand his negative tactics in home games it's like he doesn't want to score goals.surely having the crowd on your side singing and encouraging the team would be better.

It says the match referee cancelled the game I've never known a referee get to a Boston game so early.maybe it's a local referee

Disappointing indeed, but mathematical safety is assured. It'll be tough on Tuesday against Harrogate, especially with our fragile squad of walking wounded that seems to be without any depth these days. However, the Harrogate game aside, it'd be very satisfying to throw a spanner in $alford's title party next weekend. UTP.
fragile squad with loads out on loan.McGuire has been very good the last few games so we drop him again Abbott looked well off the pace today so why not drop him give him a rest we had a chance to sneak into the play offs before today after some very good away performances we always seem to at better away .

I think our three best players have been Hemmings, Thompson and Thanoj. For me, Thanoj is our best player but I think the award will probably go to Hemmings.

TEP
my vote is for Keane I think once they played him in his proper place in the centre of the back he has been brilliant especially since he was made captain

Interesting little fact. Before the game I said to our chairman that I would take a point and get back on the bus right now. He replied I think we all would. As the team warmed up we saw something I certainly have't seen before. David Newton going onto the middle of the pitch and having a discussion with Craig. Whatever was said do it again on Tuesday night David it obviously works.  UTP
I think he said we owe these one do it for the fans who have travelled once again as the team gave and got a good reception at the end of the game
I would just like to say I hope Jamie McGuire keeps his place after 3great games his attitude has been a credit to him.after being left out of the team and even the match day squad he has showed he cares about the club with his attitude on the pitch encouraging his team mates and also letting them know when there standards dropped.

Admirable fightback , the likes of Abbott have booked their place for next term ..

Stand by my comment above though
I think Craig has learnt a lot about a few players today a lot of good things a few bad.every week Greg Smith gets slagged off for doing nothing in a game. Well today he certainly changed the game  he didn't score but won some headers won free kicks and generally kept there defence on there toes made room for Thompson who had been quiet up till he came on.only downside of today's game kabby not making the most of his starting place he had the chance to prove a Point today but wasn't in the game

Might be a little off topic but four posts when we have got another great victory. This is almost unprecedented in terms of the run of form. A new manager destined for success I feel   Some quality new players and a brand of football easy on the eye. So all is good with the club.  When we lose thirty forty posts yet record run if results.  Just goes to show how people love to focus on the negative. I’m going for crashing the last place in play offs.  Already planning away days to York etc. Let’s get some more positivity going.
only downside to today's game was the referee who got so many things wrong including trying to give Blyth a penalty from a good save from the keeper.just need a few more fans to come and see how well were playing. Playoffs well you never know let's dream you never know.

A huge task for Craig, we can't stop goals going in.
Terrible defence we have the worst I have seen in all the years that I have been watching Boston.
Just awful and woeful.
I think I have to agree .Kidderminster look very pretty to watch but are nowhere near as good as the top 5 and they just played round us.for the 3, games Hawley was in charge I had a little hope that we would be OK but we seen to have lost what little spirit we had .I think the only shock we will see this season is if we stay up.because ifear the worst after watching the last 3 games. We looked so disorganized tonight a good team would have hammered tonight.
what I will say is when we were battling for the play offs we had a quality keeper and at the minute I don't think we have. We concede lots of goals from shots outside of the box or at the near post .

Their goalkeeper should have got his marching orders but can anyone tell me why Thompson got a yellow as well? I can only assume it was either something he said to the ref or he was booked for unsporting behaviour by exaggerating the incident. Obviously the ref thought he was play acting to some extent which explains why he didn`t allow the trainer on the pitch and waved him back.
Thompson said he didn't need the trainer on .he got booked for fouling the keeper

It's all very much up hill now, didn't go to the game so can't comment on the performance.
Would like to hear the opinion of someone that went.
But we do need to concentrate on beating teams outside of the top 5, they are the crucial games that will make or break us .
I went today after the last 3 games today seemed back to how we were .we were outplayed for most of the game they just ran through us.saying that though.there first goal was offside in the build up to the penalty.the linesman was at least 10yards behind play so didn't see it .I'm afraid after the upbeat last 3 games today looked like were in a relegation battle

Looks like we had to pay for his services, as he was on a contract until 2019.
Apparently they came to an agreement.

That's something else DN said wouldn't happen because BUFC couldn't afford it.

Yes you are right there, he did say that.
Probably none of the applicants really met the standard.
Definitely a u turn though.
didn't Dave newton say he wasn't going to go finding a manager from another club not say he wasn't going to pay compo .
