I’ve been shouted down by the sycophants for a couple of seasons but I don’t believe the manager will get us promotion. Too negative, look at the good strikers that have moved on in the last few years and scored hat fulls.

Was so excited about this season but I’m rapidly losing faith again.

I have so much respect for DN and he deserves so much more on the playing side. How many pitch side coach’s do we have, would think between them they could come up with a winning formula.

Same here Bodge, I've said for a long time that CE is managing the biggest club he'll ever manage at the highest level he'll ever manage at.

Once again DN has backed his man superbly, there can be no excuses.

Saturday's result is completely unacceptable, same goes for the 'performance' which I believe belongs in a category classed as 'shameful'.

Personally I'd have got rid after the Altrincham disgrace in the play off final but DN does stand by his managers and gives them as long as possible, but I think most people are coming round to the notion that CE is simply not the man to get us promoted.

It wasn't really a "disgrace" though, was it Andy? Alty were as shite as we were and snuck though on the slightest of margins. You make it sound like we got trounced.

That being said, I know you've been a vocal critic of CE for a long time and I've been a vocal defender of his, but I totally agree performances and results need to pick up smartish as there really is no excuse now. I'm not expecting us to blaze to title glory against full-time teams, but I also do not accept performances like that Spennymoor debacle, and (by all accounts as I wasn't there) Leamington. Huge game v Corby now.

The simple reason being that the National League are an embarrassing rabble of incompetents incapable of making decisions in the wider interests of the clubs they purport to represent. Making us replay that game and travel such a long distance in the middle of a pandemic, with all the other pressures on teams around testing at the time, was a genuinely disgraceful decision that put both clubs at increased risk. I hope David Newton gave them both barrels.

It should have been settled before Andy Butler decided to move. The fact it wasn't and the club has gone public - something they rarely do - suggests it's already got ugly.

It's a crap away day. How many do we normally take there?

The B-Ark / Re: Railway Athletic at York Street

It's in far better shape than a public park with needles and smashed glass everywhere.the sort of grounds you normally get in the Boston Saturday league

Yeah, but parks aren't covered by health and safety certificates. I mean, maybe YS doesn't need one at that level, but theoretically, what if they get 1000 groundhoppers show up and there's a crush at the one turnstile open? Or are they just chucking open the gates and free entry? If so, how are they counting people in? It's just a very unusual situation.

Couple of things about this!

- Why are they still referring to it as the Jakemans Stadium? Surely that sponsorship deal is long since defunct and it's now officially York Street again?
- The more I think about it, how on earth are they going to get a licence for spectators to enter the stadium? Or are these no longer required at Saturday League level? Can you actually just throw open the gates and let people in? Seems a bit iffy to me - there are now large chunks of the stadium stripped out, e.g. the benches in the YS end and lots of advertising boards missing in the Main Stand leaving holes a small child could easily topple through. The Town End is surely in a bit of a state too, it was half-condemned before we even stopped maintaining it. Same for large parts of the rest of the stadium.

The B-Ark / Re: Attendance Saturday??

The attendance is now all computer-controlled so we shouldn't get such mix-ups in the future. Add it to the "teething problems" list.

Plans are on Boston Borough Council's planning portal under the reference B/14/0165 if you ever fancy going back and reading about some badger surveys that were done at the site in 2014!

York and Fylde favs, which is understandable as they're full time.
