The B-Ark / Re: Home atmosphere

There are teams all over that struggle with atmosphere - Been to Doncaster Rovers alot recently and most of time the atmosphere is dead. I know they aren't doing particularly well but it can't be good for the players to play in a stadium devoid of noise. Even Nottingham Forest today was poor for the majority of the game.

I seem to remember a rumour going around about one of our games against Guiseley being fixed whilst Mr Drury was in charge.

The B-Ark / Boston United 2014 Calendar
« on: August 12, 2013, 09:52:50 PM »
Hi Folks,

Just wondering if anybody would like to see a Boston United 2014 calendar? I have been looking at making one for the past few years but want to make a go of it this year.

I would like your input as to what you would like to see. From my brief research I believe that making a desk calendar would be the most cost effective method for this and I was thinking more along the lines of some of the "highlights" from the past few seasons as the photos for the calendar. Wouldn't be a good idea (imo) to just use this seasons players due to the high turnover of players at this level.

If I get enough input then I would certainly look at making a go of this idea!

Cheers,

Shippers

Some great shots there, Shippy. What camera set up are you using. Any tips for a budding sports photographer?

The best piece of advice I was ever given was to sit down rather than stand. The angles are so much better for things like football :) Would also recommend investing in some 2.8 glass as you need as much light entering the lens as possible when it comes to winter time.

As for the equipment I am currently using one camera of a Second Hand 1DMKIII, Second Hand (same age as me!) 300mm 2.8 and alternating with a 70-200 2.8. Really would like a decent second camera though - unfortunately I do not have the money to do so :(

Cunning selection of photos only showing those we know are here. Like that, lets not let others poop the party by going and doing something stupid like offer more money.

Yes that is why I had to avoid the majority of the players.

Anyway here are some links to photos so far -

Lincoln United 1 - 2 Boston United

Are we all excited for Pre-Season?

I will be updating this thread over the coming weeks with photographs from the Pre-Season games so keep an eye out over the coming weeks.

I will also be at pre season training again tomorrow so I will put a few photos from up again - Who knows there might be a game of "guess the player"  ;)

Hard to think this will be my fourth full season with the club....

No that is not me. I am only 20 haha. As far as I know he is a paying supporter so can't really have any complaints!

Agreed! Lets stop giving freebies. No more season tickets as prizes at  the golf comp! Make Dalton, Whiley and Browny pay and they can claim the expenses back from their bosses. The club should ask for stewards who would work for free not for a wage.
Time for a change!

Who would I claim my expenses from.... I provide the photos to the club for free!

Also making the media pay would have an adverse affect on the amount of coverage the club would receive from the local media as the local papers are struggling as it is.
