The B-Ark / Re: Season over

I understand there is an issue with contracts for non-league clubs/players and of course finance issues for clubs with no income but we surely have to restart this season when we can.

Next season doesn't matter, it hasn't started yet. If this goes on until Sept/Oct lets re-start then. Next season can be worked out once this one is finished. There is no guarantee that that would be able to start as normal in August anyway.

It might be slightly selfish because we've a fair chance of going up but for me that makes the most sense. Will clubs refund us for going to games which no longer 'exist'? Will fines clubs have had to pay this season be refunded to them as the season is void?! The FA Cup is still going of course so we can keep hold of that prize money!

On an even more selfish view point next season will be a bit more of a bore for fans as we'll be playing exactly the same teams, no promotions/relegations with no new towns/grounds to visit.

It might not quite be over yet (for our sake let's hope it isn't!) -

Should restart when it becomes an option. If that's July/August/September then so be it. It's 'one game' but what we're seeing now is all the different leagues come up with different plans on what they're going to do. Of course money talks so the PL will just continue when that becomes an option!

Shame we won't have any competitive football until August at the earliest now.

Poor performance today for me. Crook was much the busier keeper and had a very good game. We didn't look threatening...after the goal we showed no real threat. Don't understand all the changes especially with how well we played on Tue. I'd have given Wright a run now, works so hard then finds himself back on the bench. Mulhern being used as a target man but not really sure that's his best role. Dom never got into the game really, looking for too many free kicks. Thewlis average at best, don't really remember him beating his man at all. Pitch was good and we did pass it around well in the first 20 mins so can't use that as an excuse.

No chance of winning the title now, need to make sure we finish third.

Can't be good for the players with there being so much unnecessary rotation.

Good point. Very even game for me, they possibly had the best chance of the game, at a guess I'd say possession was very even so can't complain getting a point. At one point I thought we'd be able to sneak it but in reality a draw was a fair result.

Warren very good for me, looks a composed player...probably not given a chance at Salford as he's too lightweight...must be about 9 stone wet through! Few visits to Eagles should sort him out! Heslop very good in the middle of the park and at times we played some really good passing football.

Would have taken 4 points this week so lets hope for a win in Ashton on Saturday. Their attendances seem to be falling off a cliff so if we can take a decent number there's a fair chance they'll be more of us there than them.

I may be able to get a lift back to Northampton after the game if it helps
I'm going train from brum to banbury then bus on the way in. Should be in by half 5 or 6
Was offered a potential lift to Northampton on the way back although the bus does now run late to banbury

Nice one, thanks. I'll stick with aggy's offer for now as MK is a shorter train journey compared to Bambury or Northampton. I was going to do that Banbury then bus route but I can't leave work until 5.30pm so doesn't leave enough time, earliest I'd be able to get into Brackley doing that would be 8pm. Thanks though.

Hi Scott

Are you able to get on Thameslink to Harpenden? Hoping to go to the game, would aim to leave Harpenden around 6ish.
Need to shoot off straight after the game so may not be able to help with the return journey, depending on where you are heading.

Thanks a lot for the offer SP, did look at times but the earliest I can get there without leaving work early would be 6.21pm so Aggy's offer below works better logistically for me, thanks again though.

I am local to MK station if a lift from & back there is useful?

Yes this would be great thanks aggy. I can get into MK Central at 6.45pm if that's alright with you? Thanks a lot.

I admire the effort some supporters put in to get to a BUFC game. Well done.

Haha, thanks. I've only done about 10 games this season myself, I know there are some others who put in much more serious mileage than me!

Hi all

Looking for a favour for Brackley away next Tue evening.

I'm unable to get out of work early in London, the recommended train route to Brackley is going to Banbury and taking the Stagecoach bus from there which would have been fine had the game been played last Saturday, midweek of course it doesn't leave enough time!

I'd like to ask if anybody would be able to pick me up from Northampton train station at 7pm and drop me back there after the game? If anybody is able to do this then I'll cover their entry fee for the game.

I can also get to Milton Keynes or Banbury stations if that is better for anybody who is prepared to pick me up but I'm guessing 95% of people will be coming Boston-Spalding-Peterborough-Northampton-Brackley route so assumed Northampton station would be best.

Thanks a lot.
