I've just seen they've been given a winding up petition by HMRC.

They are testing the floodlights at the moment. You can see them from our bedroom window.

The B-Ark / P A System
« on: October 15, 2020, 08:23:17 AM »
I think they must have been trying out the new P A system at the Quadrant on Tuesday. I was working on our allotment just across the fields at Wyberton Low Road when the Pink Panther theme blasted out very loud from the ground!

The B-Ark / Play-off final pass
« on: July 31, 2020, 08:49:15 AM »
The site seems to only allow you to buy a pass for both finals, not just the one. Can anybody help please?

Does anyone know if we are going to be segregated please?

The B-Ark / Money Raising

Has anybody thought of selling off squares of York Street turf at the end of the season? I've a patch on my allotment that's crying out for one. (Metaphorically.) Even if, say, we only sell 50 at £5 a time it would still be worth it.

The B-Ark / Boston Town
« on: January 13, 2019, 04:04:05 PM »
There was a large contingent of Pilgrims' supporters to watch third from bottom Town play third from top Deeping yesterday and we were treated to a superb hard fought match, with Town drawing 1-1. We saw one of the most audacious goals of the season and one of the best goalkeeping performances, both from Town. Let's hope both Boston's teams are on the up.

There is a very large fir tree blown down across Marsh Lane where it leaves the A16, completely blocking the road near The Spirit of Endeavour. If you want to get to the pub or the industrial estate you'll need to go via Wyberton Low Road.

The B-Ark / Did we 'vote for relegation'?
« on: October 22, 2017, 05:09:26 PM »
The New European had a tongue-in-cheek article from Alastair Campbell suggesting a correlation between football clubs' fortunes and how their supporters voted in the Brexit referendum. He suggests the more strongly they voted Leave, the more likely their team was to be relegated! He gave Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Hull as examples and now Torquay is in danger of joining them this season. (Torbay voted roughly 2:1 to leave the UK) Let's hope we're not on the way to providing another example.

I keep getting an e-mail which says 'BT online services  e-mail has exceeded it's (sic) limit'.
Is this a scam? Thoughts on Google seem divided. I'd guess it is as 'it's' should actually be 'its' and surely BT must have knowledge of English grammar.
The problem is, how do I stop it re-occuring? Thanks for any advice.

The B-Ark / The rising cost of non-league football's ambition

There's an interesting report on the BBC site about this. No, it doesn't mention either us or you-know-who. (bbc.co.uk/news/business-12584888)
