The B-Ark / Scott W - no not that one!
« on: September 08, 2014, 11:08:53 AM »
Interesting piece in the Telegraph on Satdy about the Gibraltar international team inc a feature with Scott Wiseman. Amongst his previous clubs we were listed. Prize of a day out with the Rotherham managers brother for anyone who can remember this international star playing for us.

The B-Ark / new keeper?

I see that Alan Marriott has turned down a new deal on reduced terms at Mansfield. Seems he's starting up as an electrician so maybe he'll be looking for part time footy? Performed very well in League 2 last season and I think still lives near Lincoln.

Thanks to Richard Coles formally of this parish and of the Communards for telling Radio 2 listeners that today is St Botolph Day and what our man did for the area better than any website I can find.

The B-Ark / Tony Gubba
« on: March 26, 2013, 10:49:03 AM »
I'm a bit late with this but I don't think it's been covered yet.
Tony Gubba died recently.
A stalwart broadcaster but always behind Motson & Davies for the big gigs.
Presented MotD, Sportsnight, Grandstand.
But more importantly he interviewed our young groundsman at the back end of 1982 prior to our big FA cup tie. Any memories of these times and the interview Chris?

The B-Ark / FAC
« on: January 04, 2013, 01:09:06 PM »
So 3rd round weekend.
Has anyone on here seen us play this far in the FAC?
Is anyone old enough!
What a crap FAC record we have - it must mean sometime soon we'll go all the way!
I recall when we should have been playing Middlesbrough after playing Chester off their own park.

Will be going to see Skyfall at the weekend.
Which other oldies out there can remember James Bond playing for us?
As I recall we sold him to a FL Club after quite a short but memorable stay with us.

Sean O'Driscoll's men will be looking to get back to winning ways when they welcome Blackburn Rovers to The City Ground on Wednesday (7.45pm).

There's never been a better chance to experience matchday hospitality. Forest are offering premium hospitality packages at their lowest prices for Wednesday's game.

For just £50 + VAT you can enjoy the Robin Hood Suite package and welcome Blackburn Rovers in true Lancastrian style. You will:
•   Savour a Lancashire hot pot and fruit crumble
•   Relax with a Forest Legend, your host for the night
•   Take your seats in the Main Stand
•   Enjoy a Q&A session with the VIP Guest (Jason Lee)
•   Meet first team players in the bar after the game
•   Recieve a complimentary matchday magazine and priority team sheets

Sorry to drag this previous posting up again regarding Ferret & Rooster. But I am still curious to know what happened to sour the relationship. From afar it seemed to me Mark was prepared to question the old regime by standing up in forums and annoying the likes of Rodwell for the good of the loyal fans but then it all went downhill. I get the impression it could be to do with self interest/Oldrids but that has not been made clear. Seems we need to all work together. Anyone shed any light?
Thanks

I'm curious to know what happened with you two.
From reading the forums over many years I know that you used to travel to games together on the train along with a fine wine. You had some hospitality at the New England and a photo taken with big Jason in your suits.
Where did it all go wrong?
I recall Rooster suddenly emerging in a flurry of emails, Mark asking all the right questions of the Evans gang, but then suddenly starting to annoy folk with his postings. There are ways of asking a Sir Cookie a question ... the recent posting wasn't it. As we know it's difficult enough getting volunteers to sit on committees.

The B-Ark / Sky Sports Announcement
« on: October 07, 2011, 11:30:43 AM »
Sky Sports have announced that from next season Man United will be the only English team shown on the Sky Sports channels.

Liverpool will be shown on The History Channel, Chelsea will be on the Russia Today Channel, Man City will be on The Shopping Channel and you'll have to go over to Cartoon Network to find Arsenal. Meanwhile Boston United will be on the Fitness Channel (oh no I've started him off again).
