The B-Ark / £1.4 million bonus
« on: December 24, 2021, 05:15:37 PM »
Gordon Taylor is the proud recipient of a 'double' £700k PFA bonus linked to the 3 year broadcast deal he negotiated with the Premier League, which expires next year. A lot of hard graft went into the negotiating, I'm sure he's worth every penny of the £3.1 million he earned in his final year! :o

The B-Ark / #LetUsPlay
« on: February 22, 2021, 08:17:16 PM »
David Newton has been consistent in his view that the NLN & NLS season should continue,  and he is one of the 18 who signed the open letter to Mark Ives asking for those clubs to be allowed to play out the season in some way.
The Chairman has a habit of making the right decisions, so if it is important to him then it's likely to be important to the club; there may be more to it than the reasons outlined in the letter, either way, for what he has done for BUFC he has surely earned the right to our support.  B)

The B-Ark / QPR & Brentford - 'ain't gonna kneel no more'
« on: February 14, 2021, 01:26:01 PM »
Both QPR and Brentford have stated that they will no longer be kneeling before kick off.
It would be good if BUFC did the same... when we do get to actually play a game again of course  :police:

The B-Ark / First game at the new ground
« on: December 05, 2020, 06:55:39 PM »
When the idea of moving from York Street first appeared, back in the days of Sotnic, Woods, and Rodwell, it felt like an impossible dream.  Under their ownership it obviously was, but David Newton and Neil Kempster stepped up when the club was at its lowest ebb,  and promised to save BUFC and build us a community stadium.
Having saved the Club, today they delivered on the second part of that promise.  Against all the odds; the nay-sayers, the nimbys, a crazy rooster, and even a global pandemic, they have never wavered in their purpose.
So a heart-felt thank you from us Kandiis; it looks great!
We kept up with the tradition of losing the first home game, but things can only get better  ;D

The B-Ark / Tommo handbagged by BBC
« on: November 29, 2020, 05:15:46 PM »
Steve 'Tommo' Thompson has been suspended by the BBC until the new year after some listeners complained about sexist remarks.
He described an altercation between players as 'handbags', nothing wrong with that, its common parlance in football punditry.
He went on to say 'the ref's wife is in',  nothing to see there, and followed it up with 'they're a couple of drama queen's... should be wearing dresses',  all within the first 20 minutes!

Sounds like he was having a great game, but he fell foul of the overly-woke BBC hierarchy and was red-carded off the airwaves  :police:
Hope and Glory won't be the same without his insightful and amusing contributions. He's a freelancer apparently, so could link up with Endeavour, or maybe do some work with the streaming from the new ground  B)

Its a sorry state of affairs when we have to pay a license fee and then be force-fed this woke, intersectionality, claptrap  :police:
Time to get rid of the licence fee and de-fund the BBC;  its an outdated business model, and it's token attempts at fairness and impartiality long since disappeared.  It would soon change if it had to fund itself like the other mainstream media do. :police:  ;)
Good luck Tommo, don't let the bastards grind you down!   ;D

The B-Ark / The Cobra effect
« on: March 02, 2020, 06:33:16 PM »
A policy of early aggressive containment is a possible outcome of today's Cobra meeting. It appears to be working to reduce covid 19 infection rates in China, but the country has been completely locked down and that's not likely to happen over here at the moment.
However there could be advisory/compulsory limits on the numbers of people gathering to watch sporting events etc. Apparently legislation is expected.
Worrying times   :-\ :-\:-\

The B-Ark / FSIF grant
« on: January 17, 2019, 01:57:26 PM »
BUFC have been awarded a £250,000 grant for the new ground. It comes from the Football Foundation (FSIF).
If the piling has already been completed, there should be enough to do pile caps, ground beams, drainage and general groundworks.  8)
