The B-Ark / FA Trophy
« on: February 01, 2025, 10:08:57 PM »
Anyone surprised? I'm not. I doubt if the current squad could spell the word "consistency", let alone provide it. That is GC's problem, not mine.

On a different subject, I subscribe to a postal program service from the club. The Ebbsfleet issue said  Ricky Miller wiould be the VIP guest. The following [Southend] issue made no reference to his attendance. Was he ill? Mind you, Dan Mooney scored for Chester the other day while still a Utd squad player!

The B-Ark / Ebbsfleet away...

Self-discipline prevents me from voicing my true feelings on today's result/performance. Graham Coughlan has a monumental job on his hands to save us from the drop. I don't think he has a hope in Hell, unless the squad is dismantled and rebuilt. Can that be done?

The B-Ark / Woking away..
« on: November 16, 2024, 11:21:00 PM »
To paraphrase the immortal Pink Floyd track, I now feel "Comfortably Numb". Woking hadn't won a game since Carol Vorderman's last appointment with a psychiatrist, but they beat us today quite comfortably. Did we have a serious shot on target? I doubt it. The simple truth is our squad is Conference North standard. I believe IC tried to upgrade the playing staff but they turned him down because the wages weren't enough. I don't envy the new manager. What can he actually do? This league is full-on carnivore and we haven't got enough meat-eaters in our ranks.

The B-Ark / Brackley
« on: April 06, 2024, 10:09:23 PM »
Where do I start? We never looked like winning, I was surprised when we scored, it was our only shot on target. Brackley bossed us all afternoon. The midfield were static and devoid of creativity. Crab football was the dish of the day. I half expected Butch Wilkins to come off the bench in a Boston shirt.
The wind made life difficult but that was the same for both sides.Great to see Hazell back but he is obviously not match-fit.
Two things to say about the match overall. The standard of the match officials was appalling. The linesman on the East Stand side was totally incompetant, and that's being generous. Brackley were also guilty of some pathetic gamesmanship. If only Ellender/Greaves were on  the pitch the Brackley players would not be simulating injury. they would actually be carried off with various limb
 malfunctions!

The B-Ark / Curzon
« on: October 07, 2023, 10:21:32 PM »
It;s 10PM and no-one wants to say a word. Well I do. When it comes to the league, we are strictly come average. Next week's FA Cup tie at Worksop is VERY important. We have to win it. If we don't, support will drain away. I do have my doubts, and I'd like to be proved wrong.

The B-Ark / Blyth[H]
« on: April 03, 2022, 12:06:36 AM »
It seems apathy has taken over. I'm not surprised. After the York win I thought things were looking up.WRONG. We were lucky to get away with 2-1 at Darlington[ no comments passed on this forum by people who went]. Today, as usual this season, in open play we couldn't score. In 3 hours this season against Blyth, we have managed a comical own-goal and an injury time equalizer at home. I had planned to go to Curzon next Saturday[overall cost £70+], but unless a radical improvement at Chorley happens, I won't bother.

Three hours after the final whistle, and no posts?

The B-Ark / Professor Van Tam
« on: February 24, 2021, 08:18:43 PM »
Did anyone see Prof. Van Tam On This Morning? He was " spot-on" with the Covid questions and amazingly got Piers Morgan to say sorry for interrupting him! The end of the interview was fantastic where he declared he was considering having a BUFC tattoo on his "deltoid" muscle. Susanna Reid  was impressed, so was Lorraine Kelly. This guy is special.

The B-Ark / Random Thoughts....
« on: January 16, 2021, 09:22:31 PM »
1. Jake Wright is back...

Mixed up for me. I don't think he's a natural goalscorer, a predator. but he has a real "tick-box" going for him. He REALLY annoys defenders, I love that.

2. Tom Platt has done a hamstring...

Bad news. I have previously said that our squad could be halved by the end of January.  But continued disruption of the fixtures has meant less games. Platt does a LOT more running than other players. When I look at the fixture pile-up for February, I get that "sinking feeling.

3. Darlington Away...

I don't want to hear CE singing the praises of the officials of THAT club before we play them again.
They are two-faced, back-stabbing liars. And if any of their players are badly injured, leave it to the home team to sort out.

To all Pilgrims, where ever you are, I wish you well. Stay indoors and invent your own cocktails.

The B-Ark / Chester[HOME]
« on: December 11, 2020, 09:18:05 PM »
Big game tomorrow. If we beat them we're on level points with 3 games in hand. Remember when we beat them 3-2 a few years ago? Jason Lee was the gaffer and we were 3-0 up. I was on another planet.
I know CE respects and admires all the management teams of every opposing team. I don't. If we beat Chester tomorrow, I will be overjoyed at the prospect of two certain individuals facing a pointless journey home.
When are the Conference suits going to make a decision about Darlington? I smell a big rat. Prove me wrong.

The B-Ark / Altrincham Play-Off Final..
« on: August 01, 2020, 12:27:46 AM »
I am getting a little "jumpy". God Bless all our lads tomorrow afternoon. When we were demoted  from the EFL in 2007 I spent the day on the M6 in a broken down van. If we win tomorrow we finally get to compete in the Conference. If we lose I will still look forward to a visit to our new ground in the Conference North.

Boston till I die.

Attention joshb!

I am not a happy bunny. I have gone down with a flu bug. Last 3 days in bed, getting up for food. Have a pint for me in Weavers tomorrow. Fingers crossed for a 2-1 win like last season.
All the best.

The B-Ark / Stamford FA Cup Away
« on: September 20, 2019, 08:39:09 PM »
Before a ball is kicked, I want to be clear to everyone. Over the last 15 years our performances in the FA cup have been putrid. Peterborough Sports last season was the latest in a long line of betrayal. I never cease to hear of a "tight dressing room" and "we want to win every game". When it comes to the FA Cup, that has been a lie. I want us to win tomorrow, are this season's squad that bothered?

The B-Ark / AFC Fy£de....

I am still p%^s*n£ myself. I went to Fylde the day we lost 9-2 and the smell in the air of, "We are the Future"[ Goose-stepping optional]. I haven't got a clue how to transfer you but go to the Birmingham Evening Mail web-site. You will find an article about their accountant. It is priceless. Make sure you relieve yourself before viewing.

The B-Ark / Fixtures for Saturday...Raised Eyebrows.
« on: April 03, 2019, 07:39:08 PM »
I know I stated if we didn't win at York, then the play-offs were history. Then I had a casual glance at Saturday's fixtures. Telford[6 pts ahead] are away at Chorley. Kiddy are at home to Bradford PA and Chester are away to Nunny, who last week got a bonkers 4-0 away win at FCUtd. Am I deluded in thinking if results go our way at 4:50PM, it's time to put the rose-tinted specs on?
