The B-Ark / remarkable.comparables

Everyone, including me would think with some of the results and certainly the performances that form and points wise  we would be a lot worse off than this time last year

After 21games our record was;
W9, D7, L 5. Goals for 37 Against 29

After 21 games this season our record is;
W8, D7, L6. Goals for 30 Against 29

Points away from the play offs last season was four, have a quick look at the table this season and guess what...?

Suggesting, as again we probably all knew that had we adequately replaced Miller the seven goal shortfall wouldn't be there and actually we would have probably been sitting very comfortably in the play off positions.

So perhaps all is not yet lost and with Newsh now back...who knows what will happen in the mo the ahead?

Make what you like out of that nonsense ;D

The B-Ark / How big a game is Saturday?
« on: October 14, 2014, 05:33:41 PM »
Do people think this is a good or bad time to be playing Hyde?

Considering our recent form and knowing we desperately need an injection of confidence I cant work out if its the best or worse time to paying the team bottom of the league. Everything suggests playing a team, which have already played more than most, getting detached from the pack having just won 1 in 13 and letting in over 2.5 goals a game is just what we need, but as we are expected to win and in considering the above probably win well, what happens to said confidence if god forbid we don't and will the team in expecting to beat them get the credit even if they do?

More so when you peek at our four fixtures thereafter, Solihull is it (are they out of the FA Cup btw) who are the team in form having hammered Harrogate, and Ferriby recently, Fylde who are top, and then Chorley 2nd, home and away. It doesn't get much tougher than that does it?

Follow up question, how have we got three consecutive Saturday league fixtures at home and how are we playing teams home and away before we have played everyone else.....or I have read that wrong. Saturday is absoluely huge

Considering it was an advertised intention in playing academy teams did anyone see any players in in the teams played that we would like to have on loan. Forests number seven will do for me.

The B-Ark / Who is your player of the year?
« on: April 14, 2014, 08:39:56 AM »
Scotty would have been up right up there had his form not taking such a dip, so;

1. Miller
2. Pidge
and a distant but clear third, the unsung hero in my eyes
3. Steer

The B-Ark / The last three games!

Obviously we need to win them, that's a given as too is the starting slots of;

King; Mills; Steer;Garner (despite and I really hate saying this another nightmare first half Saturday) Pidge; (unless we get promotion I just can't see us being able to hold on to him next year, especially as he has already played for a full season in the CP) Dowie; (who I think has been superb since he arrived, his work rate, commitment and energy wears me out just watching the lad, what a great signing)Agnew;
Miller; (who since being relieved of his 'target man' role up front on his own has been in quite staggering form, both with goals, usual work rate and now distribution)

With the assumption that Newsh and Marshall are out  for the season, that leaves three players out of Milnes, Mcghee, Junior, Ross, Indy, SWD and Fairclough to make up the starting line up, and whilst I am sure there will be many differing opinions on this one, my choice would be;

Milnes; (who somehow since his reintroduction to the team has been a different player to the one seen earlier in the season)
Junior; (Whose vision and calmness could just be the key to unlocking our opponents)
Mcghee; (Am sorry, I know he scored a very decent and valuable goal Satuday, but SWD can not surely start in front of this lad, as he offers pace, aggression and bloody nuisance value and has proved a real good signing)

If we need to bring on a midfielder then my pecking order would be Indy, Ross, Fairclough with SWD/Fairclough to replace Mcghee or Miller if they get injured.

What say you lot?

The B-Ark / Stalybridge, its now or never
« on: April 12, 2014, 12:23:58 PM »
Personally, I think that not only do we need a few results to go in our favour, of which obviously we have no control, but it is also likely that we will need maximum points from the last few games, or at very best depending on those matches, afford to maybe draw one. So the pressure is on, as perhaps it should be at this stage of the season when challenging for the play offs.Far better than mid table!

Two things, three actually; I think DG has surely got to bring back Junior and Mcghee. Am sorry twas a huge mistake imo to replace either mid week, especially with Ross and SWD, who are simply not the same players they once were.

I think DG needs to sort the discipline and structure of our defence out. I can't quite work out whats going wrong, but we are leaking far too many that's for sure. When Marrs was here I wouldn't have swapped our back four for anyone, individually they are so good, yet still we're leaking goals. We need to keep three or four clean sheets, as we are always likely to score. Scotty has been brilliant this season, so am loather to criticise, but at the worse time of the season is making mistakes of late that are costing us dear.

The crowd; to cheer the team on like they haven't heard for many a season, and we get the wins, that's all we can do.

Oh, fourthly; Is Newsh fit yet?

Three points today, is a must, lets not hold back and leave anything out on the pitch

The B-Ark / Who will finish in the top five?
« on: April 02, 2014, 04:53:16 PM »
With things getting so tight, and because I am bored and tired after last night, I thought I would have a look at everyone's remaining fixtures to see exactly who is playing who and where and seeing if it's even possible to decide on who will finish where.
Everyone can join in, pick the outstanding matches, who we want to win where and why.Will our defence and the goals they are conceding, as good as they are individually, be our little achilles heel, as I think as it stands now, we have the second worse defensive record in the top nine.What will be key, what will make the difference, can we do it?

Currently just to remind everyone it stands as follows:

1. NORTH FERRIBY;......................................... P 36 PTS 73 GD+29
2. TELFORD;.................................................... P 36 PTS 72 GD +24
3. ALTRINCHAM;...............................................P 35 PTS 67 GD+31
4. HEDNESFORD;............................................. P 37 PTS 66 GD+16
5. GUISELY;......................................................P 35 PTS 62 GD +11
6. BOSTON;....................................................  P 36 PTS 61 GD + 22
7. BRACKLEY;................................................... P 37 PTS 60 GD +20
8. HARROGATE;................................................ P 36 PTS 59 GD +22
9. SOLIHULL MOORS;....................................... P37 PTS 58 GD +9

All fixtures coming up ;D

The B-Ark / Who will be playing tomorrow and where?
« on: January 10, 2014, 03:46:37 PM »
It could be a good time to play Hednesford thats for sure, but equally all bad runs have to come good when you are as decent a side as our opponents Saturday are, but who is likely to play.
Garner, Steer, SWD, Fairclough, Indy all definitely out, and you can unfortunately but probably add Marrs to that list as well, so who will DG pick, more importantly where will he play them. A real headache for them and a real test for the boys

Realistically he can only pick from;
King, Galinski, Pidge, Marshall, Milnes, Ross, Semple,Miller, Newsh...umm, Sanders, ummm, shit we're short of players!! :-[

The B-Ark / Vauxhall Motors
« on: January 04, 2014, 09:18:53 AM »
Could be fascinating today and I think all of us could really struggle to even name the team. Is Steer suspended, and is Marrs still here and along with SWD and Miller are they all fit?
I think unfortunately DG will reevert back to this poxy 4-5-1, and we could see a rather stange line up
King, Marshall LB, Galinski RB, Garner and Pidge, Indy, Milnes, Ross, Newsham on the right, Fairclough on the left and Miller if he is fit up front
Bench?? ???
We really have to win this game, its vital, but for the first time all season, and unless Marrs and Steer are actually available, and it includes Miller in the line up after his Twitter comments its suddenly looks like a wafer thin squad :-\
What do you guys reckon?

The B-Ark / One for the statisticians
« on: September 16, 2013, 08:48:22 AM »
I suppose it is inevitable with a small squad, but seven games in and DG has used the same starting line up in every match. At our level, in fact at any level is this unique? I certainly can't remember it happening before and I suppose a lot will depend on Garners injury, which might see this stat change tomorrow, but if doesn't it will almost certainly be eight in a row. Is that a record?

The B-Ark / Who do we want to sign in the summer
« on: April 29, 2013, 09:26:05 AM »
Unfortunately missed the game Saturday, my good lady demanded my attendance and driving skills on bloody shopping trip to Peterborough! >:(

But to cheer myself up, I thought I would risk starting off my first ever new topic ;D

We know who we are keeping, or who many of us may wish to keep but what players would we like to see arrive in the months ahead.

I will kick it off by nominating Peirganinni (or however you spell his name) the centre half from Corby who after twenty minutes of research I found they signed from Stockport, or was it Southport, after he had played a full season there last year in the Conf prem. He looked really solid and impressive when he played against us at Xmas, and the good news is he apparently doesn't live miles away either. He's a Peterborough lad

So who else could we go for...come on names required?
