The B-Ark / Darlington away
« on: November 11, 2020, 09:11:29 AM »
Firstly got to say hope Nicky Hunt is ok. Suffered a bad injury with a few mins of the match to go. He collided with another Darlington player and stayed down, apparently a spinal issue / neck / back issue, horrible injury.

We played well and 0-2 a fair reflection of the game.  Go with Platt as my man of the match, did his usual role of preventing opposition playing in Midfield. Fitzsimmons with a couple of good saves, Burrow and Tootle also stood out with good performances.

Thought Darlington's streaming service was really good, they certainly set the standard for the rest of the league. Didn't cut out once, multi camera setup, highlights at half time. They had a 'virtual match sponsor' which got a bit of advertising before game and mention at half time. Might be something we could do to get a little extra revenue in. They reported 1207 watched the stream including 276 from Boston (they ask whether support Darlington or opposition when paying) which is a very good number, not too far off what they would expect to have got last season at a home game, normally get around 1500. Most clubs only report getting a fraction of their normal attendance for streaming, maybe their high quality production setup has encouraged fans to watch. The 276 away fans about what I expected we would get, less than 100 would have gone in normal times on a Tuesday night? An argument to keep doing it post covid as there may be a financial net benefit for clubs and benefit most away team fans who wouldn't travel for Tuesday night games.

£5.99  Semi-Final / £6.99 for Final.

If you want to watch it on TV says here it has chromecast support (I already have a chromecast and they work well, cost around £25 and would reccomend buying one) or I guess you could plug a hdmi cable from a laptop to TV.

The B-Ark / Admission prices
« on: August 02, 2016, 02:40:13 PM »
There was the news that season ticket prices were increased. Not seen any pay on day prices for next season with first game only 4 days away.

O/S still states 2015/2016 on prices page - http://www.bostonunited.co.uk/a/the-jakemans-stadium-28987.html?page=1

Anyone know how much it's going to cost on Saturday?

Reading this: http://www.bostonstandard.co.uk/sport/boston-united/to-be-a-pilgrim-top-scorer-newsham-wants-to-remain-with-boston-united-1-4832150

If Newsham wants to stay lets sign him up on a contract for next season now! Otherwise if Swan offers to double his wages in the summer he may get very tempted!

The B-Ark / United offer free tickets to youngsters
« on: December 04, 2012, 06:30:01 PM »
Just noticed the news article on OS with free tickets for kids.

Got to be a good move. On united live the other week there was a bit of a discussion about how to get more people through the turnstiles, Craig said he would pass on opinions [to the chairman i presume] and looks like this is what has come of it.

Got to be a good move. Get more kids in the ground to get more fans in for the future. When I first started watching BUFC, 12 years ago I got in for 'kids for a quid' and there was many more who did so.

This should help get the paying parents in with their kids. Got to be a better solution than doing offers on adult tickets, doing this may frustrate season ticket holders who have paid.

A good move!

The B-Ark / Dudfield Not Staying
« on: May 25, 2011, 07:51:16 AM »
See: http://www.thisislincolnshire.co.uk/sport/Lawrie-Dudfield-turns-chance-sign-Boston-United/article-3590494-detail/article.html

Was hoping he would stay, played well in the couple of games I saw him play.

Were gonna need three new strikers now as I doubt Jason is going to want to be playing every week.

The B-Ark / Rob Scott
« on: February 28, 2010, 12:25:00 PM »
I always love listening to Rob Scott's interviews. I get the impression that if we had not scored in the second half and won 4-0 he would have told the players their second half wasn't good enough!

His 99% isn't good enough attitude is great, something which in my opinion we didn't have with the two managers we had before Hurst and Scott, where we had two mediocre seasons.
