The B-Ark / Fallah and Thomas
« on: December 29, 2014, 11:46:14 AM »
Taken from the offical site "Thomas has linked up with one of his former clubs, Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South side Sheffield FC, while Fallah has joined Harrow Borough of the Ryman League Premier Division."

Leaving us short on numbers so hopefully this means Tempest and Dixon will be back soon?
Also isn't Jonah's deal up soon?

The B-Ark / Zelph Thomas signs
« on: October 31, 2014, 10:53:14 AM »
Reported on nonleague.com this morning. Scored a hat-trick against Horncastle midweek for the u21 side and is also a current international for St Kitts & Nevis. Has a decent goals to game record but hasn't played in this league before and it is difficult to tell how good the standard is in other countries he has played but certainly an interesting signing.

The B-Ark / Dowie and Meadows released
« on: October 14, 2014, 04:06:10 PM »
Both released. Would expect to see at least one replacement in the pipeline. No one can argue that the midfield hasn't been right this season so glad something has been done about it. Presumably these two have been released as they would be on more money than the likes of Hollingsworth and Doran who are young and local.

The B-Ark / Today's attendace
« on: August 30, 2014, 06:34:14 PM »
1001.

Surprised it was such a low attendance today so early in the season. Maybe a few posters could be distributed like last season? Free entry for kids with a paying adult vouchers could be given to local schools? I don't believe any sort of reduction in gate prices for adults would increase takings overall. Good results tend to produce an increase in gates but the gates are needed in order to fund a side aiming to get the results needed.

The B-Ark / League table starting to take shape?
« on: August 28, 2014, 05:11:35 PM »
Early days yet but five games in the table looks like it is starting to take shape. National Farmers Union are currently top and with the experience of players like Jarman, Yates and Wilson they will be a top five side but will probably draw too many with Denton up front instead of Wilson and finish in the play offs, very lucky to leave YS with three points after creating nothing all game but took advantage of good fortune and held on.

Barrow were the best side to come to York Street in a while on the opening day of the season and it was a reverse to the NFU game where it just wasn't their day, as results have shown since they are scoring for fun and solid at the back - early season prediction - Champions.

Guiseley have finished in the play offs in each of the last four seasons so fully expect them to stay in the mix. Finished the season in spectacular form last season to ruin ours. Adam Boyes has found the form he couldn't find in a Boston shirt.

Boston - great start. No fears of looking too far down the table as we have a decent defence/midfield but maybe still need a quick, clinical forward to play off Southwell. May have enough without if Newsham/McGhee are fit sooner rather than later, Fallah can find the net and Felix maintains the form he was shown preseason/early season. Happy with results so far, arguably worth a point against NFU and had the chances to win at Tamworth but in equal measure edged a tight game against Brackley and rode our luck against Barrow at times.

Gainsborough- Mid table for 67th (approx ;)) season running.

Harrogate - Some tipped them to have a good season, can't see them finishing top 5 myself as Weaver is clueless, however will spend enough to finish top half. Margettes has joined them on loan from Hull who saved Gainsborough last season.

The B-Ark / Today's game
« on: August 23, 2014, 06:44:17 PM »
Unlucky to get nothing out of a game in which the opposition created nothing.
Gledhill had very little to do only save I remember was in the middle of the goal from range.
Pidge and Garner were outstanding at the back as usual - I think we are going to see the benefit of them having played together for a good 50 odd games now this season.
Mills was unlucky with the goal 99/100 he will either put it over the bar/out for a corner or into the 'keepers arms.
Steer was a bit more restrained today with Ferriby's biggest threat coming down his side, no one directly in front of him and only two CB'S.
Marshall did any excellent job in front of Pidge/Garner.
Hollingsworth covered more ground than anyone again, showed good bursts going forward and passed the ball simply but well.
Dorran showed fantastic ball control but faded second half.
Meadows did well put didn't get forward enough for the "attacking midfielder" or pose any threat on the opposition goal, although he battled well.
Southwell was pushed and pulled all over the place and got no protection from the very poor officials. Did waste our best chance first half when he could of squared it to McGhee who would have been odds on to score.
Hope McGhee will be back soon as he is an important player.
Felix was exciting for me and I believe he will provide us with an end product and surely will be pushing for a place in the starting 11 hopefully on Monday.
Fallah shows plenty of running but not sure if he will get goals.

All in all a good performace just not our day.

Ferriby didn't look anything special. Doubt they will "wow" many with their performances. However they will be in the mix again with their experience, Jarman has a decent record for getting goals but did nothing again today like last April.

The B-Ark / U 21'S first game tonight
« on: July 31, 2014, 10:55:00 AM »
Away at Peterborough North Star. Several of the first team involved. U 21 games  could be useful for the likes of Galinski who was often an unused sub (or give last 10 min to push Garner up front) last season. Sanders and Smythe also likely to be first choice for the first team so gives everyone plenty of game time. No other fixtures announced yet though.

The B-Ark / Tonights game
« on: July 21, 2014, 10:52:03 PM »
Very good young Forest side. Their number 7  (Silva) was one of the best players at YS for a long while. Alot of the trialists aren't good enough although the 'keeper didn't get a proper chance, Number 18 played ok the majority of the rest should be released. Hall didn't do alot but did enough in his time here before to be offered a deal and is a player that would offer something different to the rest of the squad. Garner did ok up front, Sanders still doesn't look ready for the first team.

@CarlNewell1 add the questions on patter and I will address them on Thursday
11:23 PM - 6 Jul 2014 · Details

So the gaffer has agreed to answer questions the fans have. Which is something I doubt other managers would do on an online message board so massive respect for this from me. Surely no one can complain about lack of information either!

I'll go first:

Q1: Is Marc Newsham expected to be fit for the start of the season?

Q2 Very little has been said about the newly formed u21 side. Will there be a different squad or simply made up from young members of the first team and high performers from the u18 side?

The B-Ark / How many more player do we need?
« on: July 03, 2014, 11:23:45 PM »
Twelve now on the squad page plus almost certain that Reynolds is signing making thirteen.

We are all aware that the budget is not a bottomless pit so how many player can we expect to sign? for me we still need:

Another 'keeper.
An attacking CM who can create chances
A quick forward to replace Miller
A left footed midfielder - Greene has said that he wants to play 442.

I expect the above to happen although some may be loan deals from league clubs. Wouldn't mind seeing either of Dixon or Agnew back on loan. Vince could yet be the answer between the sticks and was impressive last season when involved. Replacing Miller is a huge challenge for Greene but one that must be met if we are to finish top 5, maybe a loan deal for a young forward could be the answer ala Defoe at Bournemouth or Gayle at Bishop Stortford.

The B-Ark / Season DVD?
« on: April 26, 2014, 07:42:08 PM »
With the season now over we have scored plenty of goals at home including several great goals; Newsh v BPA, Miller v Vauxhall and Bore v Telford spring to mind (think I have got the opponents right.) Surely the club could cash in and do 20/30 second clip of each goal the home team have scored and sell them for a fiver? Failing that maybe someone more skilled in the subject than me could make a youtube video?

The B-Ark / Well done lads!
« on: October 26, 2013, 05:59:57 PM »
Fantastic performance from all today. Beat one of the better sides in the league and up to 3rd! Despite playing more than some only one point off the top! Could have scored many more today if some of the first half chances squeezed in, the inside of the post after a cracking run from SWD , or a great reaction save from Miller.

Hall looks a very good addition, SWD is back to his brilliant best and Timms proved he wants to fight for his place.

The B-Ark / Worst performance ive seen...
« on: September 14, 2013, 08:09:22 PM »
...from a Guiseley side. Seen these play against us more than any other team in recent years with getting promoted the same season and the two play off games. Today they were woeful (although I'm not taking anything away from our performance.) They have had some decent players in their sides in previous years such as Ainge and Walshaw. At first it seemed harsh their manager being sacked after a couple of bad results but today it showed that they have assembled a poor side and the manager rightly paid the price.

The B-Ark / Where would you strengthen?
« on: August 31, 2013, 11:32:35 PM »
With Mils now (hopefully) on 'Lynn's wage should Dennis Greene strengthen the squad? 1-11 we look very strong and Greene may chose to save the money until we get injuries e.g we have no natural cover if Sansara got injured. Many (including myself) would have liked to have seen a holding midfielder bought in during the summer but I no longer feel that this is needed as Marshall has excelled beyond all expectations in this position, which may discount Indy.

Personally I think we should go out and get the best target man we can for the money available, against Feriby we needed to change and add some muscle up front and the only answer we had was to put a defender up front which isn't the answer. Weir Daley has picked up injuries in the past and plenty of attacking options from the bench could make the difference when needed.
