Need to get to next Saturday night with the pressure still on. One of them has to drop points.  Don't think there are enough other games where teams play each other to help us.  We could have done with some big 6 pointers against other playoff teams.

I read that Histon are on the brink.  Who at the top still have them to play as all the players have been told they can go elsewhere so I expect their team to weaken as the season draws to a close.

Top five all holding hands at the top.  If we can stay in the hunt there are going to be months with important game after important game.

Superb result. We need some momentum and see where it takes us.

« on: June 11, 2013, 08:21:49 AM » watching this little beauty over breakfast on You Tube and 10 minutes in it contains an Ex Pilgrim.  I did have to Wikipedia it just to check it was one and the same man.

The B-Ark / v BPA
« on: March 23, 2013, 07:26:27 PM »

Out muscled and out witted by a clinical, cynical, decent BPA side.  We'll have days like these where our midfield struggle to compete.  They broke everything up every time we tried to play, then we didn't return the favour.  Disappointing but despite the scoreline I don't feel how I did 2/3 weeks ago when we were getting beat.  Think we need to use the youth element sparingly to give them a chance to show their stuff.  Nuttel, Reed and Sanders should get a chance, just maybe not all at he same time against a well drilled big side.

Following on from something NF says in his thread (written at the same time) I did feel that the back 4 (well more centrebacks) were also picked off at will today. Maybe showing their lack of Conf North experience as they tried, but ultimately failed to match the guile BPA for rolling them around and  finding the holes. I'm not sure having a centre back infront of the back for is what we require at home and I guess to play that way wouldn't win any friends, but today might have be a day to shut up shop and make them think and work to break us down.

Checked the old book of face this morning and in amongst all the football bets was the below comment...

Obviously with us being mentioned it jumped out,  the same user later added...

Now I'd not normally think much of it but low and behold what does the game end as.... 2-1 and I'm £50 better off.

I can't find the other mention of the bet from that site, but I'm fairly certain I read it as 1-0 Guiseley halftime, 2-1 Guiseley full time too.

I'm not sure I buy all this fixing nonsense, I placed the bet as that is what I thought the score would be myself.

We go again on Saturday, OFF the pitch as well as on.

We turn up in numbers as when it comes to Boston United and Gainsborough Trinity there is no comparison.

We're bigger and better than whatever goes on with regards to the money thrown at the players on the pitch.

Leave our woes at the turnstile and have a damn good sing song and party.

The B-Ark / Best XI in Boston's History
« on: December 14, 2012, 08:36:23 PM »
I've trawled through the search as I know it's been discussed before, but what would the good people of Patter consider to be Boston United best XI of players through their history?

I'll start it off with the Goalie as that's easy and I've only ever really known 1 good one...
