The Spalding-born defender may still be in the early days of his football education but his end-of-term reports haven't been bad so far.

Just to confirm that Shaun was born in York not Slapding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe you don't know what will happen.
The league will say that they are happy with what they've received and everything is in order.
The website will show 2/3 people holding more than 10%.
You, and I, will not have a clue who they are and the papers will not be able to reveal their true identity.
When (if) they get promoted things will start to get stranger...........
Then 'you know who' will blame his time at Boston for the miss-understanding and go to another club..................

I have followed this with interest as I know a lot of Shaun's family. Working for a living as well as playing football makes it harder to progress. Becoming a pro will give him the chance to fulfill his ambition.
Training every day and not after a full days work may make the difference to him getting in the football league with or without 'his new club'!!
Grimsby?? Not what I heard at York races the other week!!
It was also interesting to hear about all the clubs who were supposed to be looking at him.
He may be waiting until after his trip to America before making a decision just incase any bigger club comes in......................

Interested to read that you think he should stay for the love of the club. If you were to offer him enough to stay he may have considered it. Part time football is usually down to who pays the most. Full time is different as the player should want to better himself.
As a York fan I would play for nothing but I have to be realistic as you should be. Unfortunately money talks and players must do what is best for them. As some have said in the past, he's a waste of money!!!!!!
Can you blame him for leaving??

I wouldn't wish this on any Club (well maybe just a few) but you have to look at the positives.
Pride Of Lincolnshire sums it up well.
These boys came in when you were falling to obscurity.
They have done a great job in the short time they have been with you and look at it from their point.
If they don't take the job they may not get another chance.
If they do and do well they may go on to bigger things.
They have left you in a great position for promotion, with a sound footing financially, thanks mainly to your chairman (quite rightly imo) keeping an eye on it all.
You are ready for the move up to the next level.
We may see you next season if we're not in League 2, but if we are you should give them boys a great welcome for what they have achieved.
Having said that I would be totally peeved if we lost our manager when things were looking that good!!!!
Best of luck for the rest of the season.
Football... it's a funny old game......... and really hurts you when you think it's going well.............

I go back to the days when most clubs supporters called for the board to be sacked. It was often said that if they run their business like they ran the Club they wouldn't have a business to run.
A lot of years later they run the Clubs, at the top, like a business and get slagged off for it.
I like FCUM and hope they succeed in keeping their feet on the ground.
They have to fall in line with the level that they are in but others may opt to do it their way if they succeed.
Football may once again be for the fans in the street instead of some television guru and we can then go back to blaming the board for getting it wrong.
That makes me sound like I'm a Newcastle fan, always blaming the board!!!!

Makes interesting reading this debate. Some want to remain in the non league and part time while someone wants to change the whole of English football to suit BUFC.
We suffered and almost went bust but the fact is that there is money in most clubs and it's not used correctly. We sold players for many years and did not pay massive wages. Where did our money go? From Gary Ford through to Jon Greening/Nick Culkin we have had enough money to keep us going without anyone turning up to watch.
You will get a bit more money for being in the Conf Prem with a later start in the FATrophy/Cup meaning a better bank balance.
We want to be back in the Football League and so should you.
Why? Because you have people who won't let the finances get out of control.
That was your big problem last time and how many more are out there?
Both Histon and Kidder are having to answer some questions.
I don't think the problem is part time or full time it's with how the club is run.
But to compete at the highest level you need to be full time and realistic!!

Pearson the worst player at Bootham Crescent this season?? It's good to know he is a York fan who has travelled to watch us but he was, along with your other defenders, superb yesterday. York were poor and you deserved to win. Several people I spoke to thought Pearson was impressive but not as good as your captain, he was awesome. As for us, our big game is at Bolton and their prices are very reasonable which means we will have a good following. Best of luck and we may see you next season, if we don't get promoted that is!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We would love to play them as they would bring quite a few.
Easy travel from Manc and hopefully MUFC not playing that day.
A winnable game for both clubs, a few more £££'s in the kitty and non league in the 4th round!!
But not Brighton please!!

A great win for us in the FACup. I thought it might be off but glad it wasn't!!
Hoping for a big team and lots of money or a good chance to progress to the next round.
Not a small team with no fans as we still need the money.

I know there are a couple of games to play before we play but the prices for the trophy are: standing £10, £5 for cons and £2 U16. Seats are £13, £7 & £5. And before you ask these are reduced prices!!

I think you will have been to many grounds without a roof and from what I can gather you are always heard.
But at home with a roof you are a little quiet!!

We've got a bigger game at Darlington (no disrespect intended) on Saturday but a lot more to lose aganst you!!

The pubs close by sell good beer but they may restrict entry.
Good car parks not too far from the ground but they do sometimes fill up early in the day.
Better bet is to use the park and ride which is easier than trying to get through York on Sat lunch time.
It is also expensive to park in York and you will get a ticket if you try to be clever ie. Sat afternoon in the carpark.
Even better, travel by train and drink as much as you like!!!!!!!

See you on the 11th, weather permitting!!

Although S & H say you don't know how to make any noise!!
Calling us illiterate is not very nice and the waving of tenners???
Maybe we will have to wave brown envelopes!!!!!!!
Anyway, it should be a good game and we are looking forward to it.
