Never forget that "Fatty the Fraudster" is, and always will be starstruck, thinking that making big name signings will thrust himself into the limelight.

When though, has he ever been able to man manage one of these best signings ever?

Charlery ended up blowing the whistle on him in revenge, Whelan told people he absolutely hated him, Gascoigne was rumoured to have said he received none of the riches promised and what ever happened to Derek Lilley, who definitely trained with the squad but had packed his bags before kicking a ball in anger.

When the dust settles on the Pires rumour there will be another big name to keep the spotlight on himself and eventually no doubt he will get his best signing ever but when it comes to honouring  the contract then history will repeat itself.

Mmmmm!!!  Well it seems just like when they lost at home to Grimsby on Saturday they played fantastic football at The Abbey last night but it was the useless git in black that cost them the game. 

BUT, has was emphatic in stating that the current squad is the best that Crawley have EVER had, even Martin Ling told him that the best team lost and whatever people think Crawley cannot afford to pay the kind of wages the Cambridge players earn. 

So he pays £100,000 for a player, from a league club, but then presents him with a contract that sees him in the bottom earners of the conference. Now when have we heard that before.

Looks like one of our old associates is like a kiddy in a sweet shop now his new clubs owners have stumbled upon a pot of gold.

Its the talk of non league football in some quarters of how the hell Crawley Town are splashing out on big moner signing after big money signing.

After last nights draw at Cambridge the rumour mill is rife that Evans is going to splash another £100.000 on a centre half.

What is funny though is what is reported to have happened while the Crawley players were getting ready for a take-away after last nights match.

After the game, as we were leaving the Supporters Club, EVANS (looking very *beep* off) ordered his players, who were waiting for their Chinese food, on to the coach immediately or they'd get left behind. As the coach pulled away, the Chinese woman came bombing over the road with bags of food waving them at the coach. The driver failed to stop, and i jokingly said 'We'll take them love", at which point she shoved the bags of food into our hands and marched off. Lovely stuff.

Crawley are so minted they paid for my supper. Prawn Crackers, Sweet and Sour Chicken with rice. Cheers EVANS!

Looks like Evans is in full flow again.

Today's Non League Paper reporting that he has tables a 6 figure offer for Keane from Luton.

The obvious questions are being asked in more than one quarter though - where's all the money suddenly coming from.

The guy had class stamped all over him and then went back to play in the Derby first team again if my memory serves me well.

A Crawley fan i know told me the majority of there fans wanted Evans out. JUst thaught i'd share that

Typical Evans tactic, silence the critics by pulling a major signing out of the bag. How this is financed is a worry for somebody else, on another day.

Could this be the start of a Ken Charlery scenario again.

I thought that Kuipers was a top draw keeper, in fact too good for league two at the time.

Almost always  there is a signing on fee involved in these sort of transfers and unless old jelly belly has changed a load of lucrative promises as well that just may not materialise.

Oh dear, seems an old acquaintance of ours, now managing down south and with one of the worlds worst playing budgets has got quite a lot of travelling to undertake next season, what with Fleetwood now moving up to the top division along with Newport and Darlington and Grimsby dropping down.

Is he still banned from Blundell Park?  :dan
