I can see Boston getting plenty of coverage during the next rounds due to the JVT connection.

I posted on here after the Leamington game I was considering not wasting money by attending the Corby game. Well I have considered and have reached the conclusion that I will attend for the simple reason I want to support the club and Board for everything they have given us, and concluded it was the playing staff who are letting us down big time and not the Board. I still maintain something is very wrong at the moment which needs sorting quickly.  UTP

See you there Mel. Sitting down for this match.  Old age is catching up.

Culverhouse, needs plenty of money behind him.  Take away the money and you will see how good he is.

I remember in the Evans era.  Boston was investigated concerning irregular betting patterns in Asia.  Loads of money was placed on Boston to lose 3..0 against a team we should be beating.  The score 3..0 to the other team.  Never heard anything about the outcome.  Must be very hard to contrive a scoreline like that.  Can anyone else remember this?

Re parking. I hope next season we can keep the space we have now. I have a cracking spot.

The B-Ark / Re: To Replay Or Not to Replay?
« on: September 08, 2021, 04:32:27 PM »
We all remember, of course, last season’s game at Darlington being abandoned after 87 mins or so with United just having gone 2-0 up, and Darlo about to go down to 10 men? The game was ordered to be replayed.

I’m not sure if this has been discussed elsewhere, but the FA Cup draw this week just reminded me that I was going to post about a FA Cup match played not too far away from me a couple of weeks ago in Mossley. It was abandoned after 89 minutes with Mossley having just gone 2-0 up.

The visiting supporters (of a team from the Liverpool area) had been goading the Mossley keeper throughout the match, and he obviously ‘lost it’ after their reaction to their team going 2-0 down. The Mossley keeper went into the crowd to confront the visiting supporters, followed by several of his teammates and a brawl apparently ensued. After some time, the referee abandoned the game.

So, what was the decision? A replay ordered?

No – the score at the time of the abandonment stood as the result!!

Yes, different competitions I know, but I just found it rather galling to see different decisions being made for abandonment of a match at virtually the same time, and the score exactly the same!!
No surprise there :(

I remember the day well. I remember getting off the bus and John Blackwell begging us to help him protect his bright yellow Boston United van. I remember the brutal fighting amongst themselves, Celtic V Rangers.  I also remember the majority of Boston fans hiding their scarfs. I remember some of Boston's" hards " trying to put on a Scottish accent, so they didn't get a thumping. I can't remember the score, but think we won. I think nobody cheered when we scored.  I remember a drunken Scot thumping the next man along side him in the toilets.  The drunk had dropped his bottle of whiskey whilst trying to pee, and blamed the poor guy next to him.  Our bus driver made us leave early, because he feared for his safety.
