Title: Retford attendance.
Post by: Seenbetter on March 03, 2010, 02:53:16 PM
At the forum last night overheared people talking about going to Retford game next week. Scott and Newton both commented on the great away support the team get. The end of the season is nigh and we have some big games coming our way. With these factors in mind and the relatively short trip to Retford I think we could have a lot of support travelling to the game. The team deserve a 12th player because of their work ethic and the results they have acheived, so I for one will be winging my way to the game to cheer them on. I realise it's an evening game but lets make the effort to show other clubs what we are about. See you there.

Ha ha. As well as the England flag, you can't forget my pride and joy - the Lincolnshire flag. I'm sure it baffles most of the away fans when they see it lol.
To be fair though - the FCUM fans are a great bunch, they made us all very welcome when we went up their earlier this season. Can't wait to welcome them at York Street, should be a cracking atmosphere.

Hi guys....

Just too inform you that Drums aren,t allowed at evening games at Retford due to an agreement with local residents,.... <SORRY>...

But you will be given a warm welcome in all other aspects.......

Any ideas on numbers you may bring????

Also in advance i would like to warn you about the lack of coverage at our ground and it does tend to have its own climate so wrap up extra warm.....

See you Tuesday

It's hard to say but I've heard quite a lot of people who don't normally go say they're going so I'd guess somewhere between 200-300. Make sure you get plenty of programmes printed and plenty of food cooked up as when we played Stocksbridge they ran out of both very quickly due to them only expecting 50 and us taking closer to 200 - that was also midweek.

Nowhere is colder than Buxton, it's the coldest place I've ever been to...

Only when Retford score.....

Their is limited seating and cover....

With more going up at the mo.....

To be fair our ground isn,t great but work is under way to improve it...
6 promotions in about 8 years means we are not up to where should be but the new regime is determined to improve the ground...

Think your team needs to take a breather with this promotion lark before it comes and bites you in the but. Let the rest of the ground catch up

From now until tuesday could everyone who is going practice making a drumming noise. Then when all 200 to 300 of us together start 'drumming' the local 8 will complain to the police. When they arrive they won't be able to find a single drum!

It took me about an hour working out how to put in the Xmas ones and I've now forgotten how I did it! I'll see if I can get some Easter ones in before Easter. Only 295 days until Christmas.  ;D

We could opt for a ground like that in the middle of Frampton Fen, loads of open fields around Boston!

Is there good public transport facilities getting to Retford?

I shall be there with a pocketful of confetti.  :P

The tin pot meat raffle - it's a money raiser, just like shaking the bucket but with someone taking a string of sausages, pound of pork chops and a chicken home!

Car park - You can usually park on the road once it's full

Hope for your sakes you get promotion, this is obviously just too painful for most of you.

I think they pay their own supporters £1 to go and watch them. With the travelling we'll do and the fact that we are used to watching football being played and not thuggery they should give us about £2 each. ;D

Anyone know who the man in fancy dress will be on Tuesday. I think that when a manager gets into trouble with the ref it's usually the refs fault for not being any good at his job and failing to protect the players from thuggery which is why the managers get so angry and frustrated. With Retthugs  reputation he had better be a good one. I think I will predict Scott to be sent off, but who cares, we've got one to spare.

£8 to get in and stand in the uncovered open air or sit in the micro stand (150 seats) that few want to use.  A further 100 seats and the required amount of terrace cover will be in place by 31st March so we can avoid relegation!  You'll see it next year if we're both still here.

Raffle's a £1

They will get promotion longs they can get it up to unibond standard in time. But they will have more work to do if they go up by the end of march next year or they will come strait down again (kings lynn failed althou irelevent now)

Meat raffle is a superb prize and includes steaks ,porkchops sausages mixed grill packs and more...£1 a go ..

Award winning program is £2 and always revered by away fans....

Beer in clubhouse is a decent price and a nice pint.....

As said before not much cover and its always cold... But a warm welcome awaits all!!!!

Only under special dispensation. Aren't Ilkeston getting Chesterfield's floodlights, hence why they aren't up to scratch now?
