What i asked you is what do you think will come first.

Was in Chester yesterday and read their local comic, the Standard. a few players have already left the club, one signing for Cambridge. The supporters all blaming inept management. Good to read that the local council have had meetings with certain groups about the future of football in Chester. I don't think Boston council would show the same interest in Boston. Apparently there is a large group of Chester supporters, about 500, living in Denmark who are looking into a buy out. Anyway with the prohibition Order preventing games being played at the ground the clubs future was sealed. All a bit sad for the supporters.
The talk is mainly about restarting the club and bringing back good days of football to the city so good luck to them.
Did make me wonder what lessons the fa are learning from the number of clubs getting into financial difficulties, probably none as long as they still get their tea and biscuits at their meetings, expenses and trips abroad, or am I being a bit harsh on them. As long as they continue to allow their type of fit and proper people to run a club there will be more clubs with their backs to the wall.

finances and football needs to be accessed and hammered down on hard throu out the football world.
A few things needs to be put in place i think.

1 60% gate to wage as to be inforced big throu out ALL leagues. 40% for thos in dept with 20% going to creditors.
2 All clubs to be accesses monthly by appointed accountents, with issues such as football creditors, rent ni and tax taking a priority.
Althou short time this may rattle compition but long term it would help in more ways and one.

3 Also think players should be hammered on, with wage capping and having a auto catch in there contracts I.E A club can cancil any playing contract ONLY if it is seen it can breach the wage capping or 60% rule by giving 1,2 0r 3 months notice.

I was listening to Radio 5 last night where they were having a forum about Portsmouth and it was claimed that the FA fit and proper owner test is just asking any prospective owner if they have a criminal record, if the answer is no then they can buy into the club.  Really tough testing by the FA, any old Del Boy or Jim Rodders can still walk into a club.

Chester council own the football ground hence their interest . To be fair Boston council planners did us a great favour when they sussed Lavaflow out when many fans failed to do so.

There needs to be a complete overhaul of the test, dont lt anybody with any kind of bad history in business own a football club, or let mysterious no-name corporations take control

Gutted but also relieved for the fans. At least they can now only look forward, hopefully without the cancerous scum vaughan leaching off the club.

Fond memories of my one and only trip to the Deva in the FA Cup.

Best wishes to Chester's fans and I hope they can get themselves together.

Time for us to remember how close we came and how we were pulled back from the brink and by whom!

Bye Bye Chester - look forward to see you soon.

With Chester's expulsion from the Conference on Friday, surely this means that a team from Conference North & one from the Unibond Prem will be repreived from relegation (assuming that any new Chester club starts up below our division). In the past, even though we're technically on the same level with the Isthmian and Southern Leagues, teams have been repreived on a geographical basis rather than points per game, so will this mean a repreive for whoever finishes second bottom?

If so, then only one more team needs to be demoted or to go pop and then Durham stay up! As it stands, they'll be 'officially' relegated on Tuesday if Worksop win and Frickley don't lose.

I think Burscough have there day of destiny on Thursday so Durham could be down on Tuesday and safe by Thursday .

But will they stay?

Or have they resigned from this league to recover.

**Here** (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_conf/8543195.stm) is another one that could affect Durham!

Whilst relegation at "our level" may be decided on a geographical basis rather than points I'm not sure that will be the case in Conference North/South. With Chester's expulsion I think they compare the records of the teams finishing third from bottom in the conference North and South, with the team with the best record getting reprieved. Remember Leigh/Carshalton?

At present that would be Lewes v Trinity, with Trinity getting the reprieve.

"If Worksop win on tuesday ...." that's a big IF!!! although we did play much better on Saturday.

Well done to Witton Albion on this great gesture towards Chester fans...

... I wonder where they got the idea from?
