Title: First game at the new ground
Post by: Ed Kandii on December 05, 2020, 06:55:39 PM
When the idea of moving from York Street first appeared, back in the days of Sotnic, Woods, and Rodwell, it felt like an impossible dream.  Under their ownership it obviously was, but David Newton and Neil Kempster stepped up when the club was at its lowest ebb,  and promised to save BUFC and build us a community stadium.
Having saved the Club, today they delivered on the second part of that promise.  Against all the odds; the nay-sayers, the nimbys, a crazy rooster, and even a global pandemic, they have never wavered in their purpose.
So a heart-felt thank you from us Kandiis; it looks great!
We kept up with the tradition of losing the first home game, but things can only get better  ;D

Well said sir, agree with all you say, let’s hope the team can match the stadium in all its splendour, that’s just looking at it from the coffee shop area., can’t wait to actually watch a match in it. One day soon we all hope.

interesting to note that nobody predicted a Chorley victory today. Just goes to show what a strange league this is. Having said that, I thought the best team won on the day, although their time-wasting tactics once they went ahead was deplorable. Another thing that puzzles me is the way players these days never take a throw in at the correct place and yet the linesmen just turn a blind eye. Boston are just as guilty as other teams in this respect.

Losing today is a minor, if irritating, setback, but it must not be allowed to obscure the fact that we are close to having a wonderful new stadium. Thank you indeed to David Newton and his team!

Chorley fan here. Congratulations on the new stadium, looks fantastic. Although our own Victory Park is  full of “ character, ” yours is something other smaller clubs should be aspiring to .
Great result for us yesterday, but don’t worry it’s traditional to lose the opening fixture in a new stadium! :D

Thanks Faraway, but it would have still been nicer to have won our first game.
