Title: Very little affiliation
Post by: Dipdodah on October 27, 2020, 08:48:16 PM
Is it just me, or has anyone else been struggling to have affiliation with our players.  The lack of seeing the players live is to blame.   Don't get me wrong,  I support them to the hilt. But if I passed half of them in the street,  I would struggle to know them.

Yeah, I thought this last night. Absolutely nothing against them, and they're clearly an exciting bunch, but watching them on TV just.... isn't the same. It's so frustrating.

I think at our level that a massive part of supporting your local team is being able to go to the games. It's not that I support them any less, i'm just finding it difficult to get fully into it without being there. I also support Liverpool, but I've always been used to seeing them on tv, so it doesn't seem quite so different, but there's nothing like being at the game feeling the atmosphere and cheering them on.

Despite the elite sport status currently bestowed on us, I fear it'll be next season before we get to grace Pilgrim Way with our presence, but if that's how it goes then so be it. Everything comes to he who waits...
