Title: Boston United's best moment of the decade
Post by: York Street Pilgrim on December 22, 2019, 01:11:35 PM
Inspired by something I've just seen on Twitter, what was Boston United's best moment in the 2010-2019 decade? (Haven't got my own answer yet, the away support at Rochdale is up there but the fact that it was recent may be skewing my judgement - need more thinking time).

Feel free to nominate the worst moment as well! Losing 9-2 away at Fylde, perhaps?

EDIT: With apologies to those that have replied already, let's throw in another category... Player of the decade. Carl Piergianni?

Bradford PA in 2010.

Was a 7 hour round trip for me, must have been well over 1000 pilgrims there, and was a promotion earned though hard work and determination only. No brown envelopes or embarrassing Scottish managers involved.

Will start with a negative, NFU away in the play off, totally awful.

Same as BostonGoals Bradford felt so good for many reasons. Another one for me was the thumping of Stockport first game of a season.

I know it’s fresh in the memory but Boston’s goal in the replay and the following celebrations will live with me as a memory of York St’s atmosphere at its finest.

Here are the last decades' results, tables, statistics and squad pages on my web site. Sorry about not keeping the squad pages up-to-date - I keep meaning to update them but never seem to find the time! There are also my photo galleries for each season (http://www.bufc.drfox.org.uk/gallery.html) and the Pilgrims' Progress Season-by-season Summary page (http://www.bufc.drfox.org.uk/progress.html) which may bring back a few memories.

Bpa playoff probably tops it
The Ferriby debacle was disappointing
Vauxhall motors 0-4, alty 1-6/1-7 and fylde 2-9 all horrendous low points
As was Peterborough sports

May is just too late! The decade finishes on 31st December 2019.

It started quite well in January 2010 with a 2-0 win against Sheffield in the Unibond League Challenge Cup followed by that 10-0 win against Durham City at York Street. Went on to make the playoffs and win promotion at Bradford Park Avenue.

I hope to have my answer in May .

You have to forgive him Ken, he doesn't know what day it is, never mind decade. :)
