So we travel to Rochdale on Sunday 1st December. A team sitting 16th in league 1, won once in their last 5 games, and judging by their forum (in particular the fan response to last nights 1-0 win), a fan group who are growing increasingly frustrated with a variety of things there, including attendance, management, and performances. Maybe, just maybe, our growing momentum and their declining could mean a perfect time for us to catch them and create a cup upset.
As an aside to this - anyone know if their standard admission prices carry over into this game? Looking like around £25 for an adult in their away stand...
-
I believe they charged £15 for last night, so would expect the same in the next round. The minimum adult admission for 1st Round onwards is £10.
-
And by magic, Rochdale release prices:
Seating:
Adults - £15;
65+ / 21 & under - £10;
16 & under - £5;
Wheelchair user - £10 (carer FOC).
Terracing (home only):
Adults - £12;
65+ / 21 & under - £9;
16 & under - £5.

So all seater for away fans then? That'll go down well.

Always has been at Rochdale. You get a sidestand.

Are drums banned there?

Are drums banned there?
we can but hope.....
-
Rochdale's website are saying that they will receive £12,500 from the BBC - do we get a similar amount?
-
Yes
P.S. Only 1628 there last night.
-
Apparently drums are allowed :D

Good - we won't miss a beat... boom boom! ;)

Lincoln and Grimsby go out tonight... only 1 Lincolnshire team left in!
-
We have been allocated less than a thousand tickets. Do we have to pre purchase tickets, or can we pay at the gate? Tickets available from the office.

I'm just going to pay on the gate. The away stand holds well over 3000 - they will have plenty of room.
-
Its not all ticket and you can pay on the day- shouldn't be a problem ;)

That's the first batch. It's pay on the day anyway.

Hoping for a better result than those we had on visits to Spotland for Football League matches. Five visits saw us draw once and lose four times, scoring just once in a 1-1 draw in January 2006.
They seem quite confident we'll not pose too much of a problem - 'a clear pathway to Round 3' - one pundit put it on a local radio broadcast I was listening to last night.
Let them keep thinking that way eh??

Drury got it right then .
I can recall at his signing on forum he declared that Boston was the biggest club in Lincolnshire :)

The ground guide on their website says drums are OK
It also says flags and banners bugger than 7x3ft need a fire certificate
Looks like I'll be digging mine out.....
Dont know why they have these daft rules on flags. No wood in the ground ffs!

Pete that’s probably the only thing he did get right🤪

I don't know about you, but I'm getting a tad excited.

Me to matey, really looking forward to being there with the Pilgrim's.

Having seen Boston lose at Rochdale 2:0 and 4:0 in the football league days I'm certainly due a goal or two for us !
(Though one time our players hadn't been paid )
The stand we've been given has a cracking view of the pitch and we'll be able to get a decent atmosphere going.
Plenty of eating and watering holes near the ground including a chippy in the street near our stand which according to interweb is open on Sunday.
Last time I pulled into the Rochdale car park , I let a black BMW coming towards me in and it was Grant Holt and Jamie Clarke (ex Pilgrim) on their way to the game so probably no wonder we lost ! :-\
Whatever happens let's spare a thought for Ernie Cooksey and his family who played for both clubs and tragically lost his life to skin cancer. :'(
-
From a lass who's from Rochdale I've been told The Cemetery is the pub to head for pre-match, though likley to be rammed.

Little feature about Ernie Cooksey who we know sadly passed away not long after playing for us.

a fitting tribute. Although I didn't go to Wrexham on the final day in the league, I'm told regularly that ( to quote the article) "he ran through walls" in our cause that day. We need somebody to do that today....

I think they all did, well done lads.

Cooksey was ill on that last day, I think. One of the nice guys of football.
