What do you think about the proposed European Super League?
Founders: Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City,
Real Madrid, AC Milan, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Paris St-Germain.
Five "initial guests: Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, Marseille, Roma.
Personally, if it happens I would say “good riddanceâ€.

Couldn't agree more. Really hope it happens, just let the 5 of them get on a bigger corrupt money go round & replace them with the top 5 in the Championship.

I think it would be incredibly bad for the game. Since Sky put their money into the game approx. 30 years ago I believe it has made the rich richer and significantly devalued the whole game beneath the top flight, from the championship all the way down to grass roots level. The super league would naturally attract the very best players, but other than these proposed five, how does it potentially leave the rest of our premier league teams? Winners Spurs, runners up Everton with 18 mid table sides vying for the remaining places. Where's the incentive for players if that's as good as it gets? Where's the incentive for fans if they dont get to see the best sides? So, for me, it would further divide the game, which inevitably would cost many teams their existance sooner rather than later.

All the points made in the above posts are accurate assessments , a backward step long term .
Only thing I can add is if everyone had been as tight as me and not subscribed to Sky we would not be having this discussion . :)

And how many supporters will be able to afford the constant and distant away travel? Another instance of fans being regarded as unimportant.

It's a case of the have and have nots here, the elite of European teams will be able to get richer.
The rest will be looked down on as inferior and will miss out on the revenue.
I don't think Boston will have to worry about making the decision to join it anytime soon lol.
But in away l wish the likes of Man Utd and Man City would go and they could take Salford with them.

Interesting that Arsenal are in the select group. Also Spurs being overlooked with a new state of the art stadium. How things change, Man City one of the best teams in Europe only a few years back were nearly in the same league as Macclesfield

If memory serves me correct Man City sent a Neil Thompson managed York City down on the last day by virtue of a 4-0 win, and the season after Citeh lost home and away to Stockport......
-
Lincoln beat Citeh at Sincil Bank that season.
Citeh won the Play Off final 4 days after Man Utd won the treble in Barcelona...

In other words, money, money, money.......

Loads of rumours concerning malpractice at Manchester city. One rule for one etc.
