Title: Betting
Post by: Dipdodah on June 03, 2018, 10:07:53 AM
Looked on Oddschecker no betting yet on our league.

But betting on National league South.

I would like to get a small wager on us before any more signings, hopefully get a working man's price.

Don't OAP's get a discount rate at the bookies ? :)

I can guarantee you we'll be among the lower midtable teams with some firms as for odds so likely to be decent value, especially each way. I'd imagine we'll be 16/1 to 33/1 to win it.
York, Stockport, Hereford probably going to be among the favourites purely because they about get the biggest gates!

I wish GHM :D    If I had invested in a nice pension instead of investing in Joe Coral I would be as rich as you my old mate ;)

That doesn’t have the promoted or relegated teams from what I could see. I would expect Hereford a d Alry to do quite well with Chester and Guiesely not being far away either

Exchanges have not formed a market yet for a TRUE price.  It may pay to wait.  The only trouble is if the next signings are as good as the previous, the price could drop.

Feels like reasonable value after recent signings and Craig Elliots promotion record elsewhere and our form under Elliot in second half of last season.

Boston are 30/100 to win tonight's friendly.  Anyone want to buy money? Better interest than the banks  ;)

80/1 Gateshead on Skybet.  My mate is a big big Gateshead supporter and he told me that the club has been bought out by an Asian Billionaire.  I have never seen a man so excited.

Salford should win the league, but you will be betting 20/1 to finish in the top three at 1/4 the odds a place.  So £5 e/w @ 80/1 will cost you £10.

Only bet what you can afford to lose, if it stops being fun stop ;D ;D

My mate cannot believe it, 3-1 win against Blyth and his team back to being full time.  The new owner aiming to be in the league within two years, and still 80/1 on Skybet.  Fill yer boots  :D

22/1 on William Hill if you go through the app and use the price boost :)

Okay I know it is VERY early, but 80/1 Gateshead open with a 3-1 win away.  A home win on Tuesday against Moneybags Salford and Boston doing the same at Leamington , I may be tempted to cash out my tenner e/w double ;D ;D ;D

Just looked, Gateshead are now 150/1 with Skybet ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
Title: Re: Betting
Post by: Dipdodah on August 06, 2018, 02:09:13 PM
I cannot believe the price 150/1 after winning their first game ???.  I have had another tenner E/W ( us pensioners can afford it ;) )  They play Salford tomorrow at home, if they beat them the price will be slashed.

If they put a mini run together I may cash out for a nice profit.    GET ON  you heard it first here. ;D ;D

Nice to see moneybags Salford getting beat last night.  Gateshead still a massive 80/1 and joint leaders ???.  At home to Dover on Saturday, if they win I can see the price being 25/1 or less.

I have slight concerns about my double with Boston :D

I am considering going against your advice Dip .    With low interest rates , the prospect of pensions being frozen if Brexit goes tits up I am looking for an alterative way to supplement my pension .

With FC UNITED of Manchester 2 games so far 13 goals have been scored and given last time we played them it finished a 4 - 4 draw I'm considering having a punt on a 6 - 5   win for Pilgrims .

What odds should I be looking at and do bookies accept credit cards ?

it's a nailed on 0-0 in my book! Both sides will be so scared of conceding they'll forget to attack!

Go down the garden and dig up some of those white fivers you have buried GHM.  I can see it being an high scoring game.  But be careful my banker Joe Coral gives worse rates than Barclays.

And the mighty Salford lose, they are now 11/2 to win the league.  If they get beat on Tuesday, the price may get bigger, I may have a sneaky fiver.  Moneybags will invest, they cannot let this slump continue.

Weird, Boston are third and price drifts to 25/1 ( Skybet )  Gateshead Top and are 40/1.  £10 double will get you £10,000.  I am not suggesting you do this, but a £1 ew double will get you over £1,100.

OXO  I have invested £2 in a £1 ew double.  Finish in the top three for the place side of the bet.   If they both win the league, I will give your jam jar collection £1,000 out of the winnings.

If they both are placed 2nd or 3rd  I will put the place winnings in.

I know it is a long shot, and most of this post is tongue in cheek ;)   But if other members did the same and invest a couple of quid, who knows what could be achieved.  It would give us an interest in another club for the rest of the season.  Remember these prices are on Skybet.

If the season was to end today, the bet would pay £79.25

i have been investing a little each week for the past month on both Boston and Gateshead in singles and doubles after reading about Gateshead being overtaken via this thread and stand to win nearly £5000 if both teams continue to perform. ;D

I have been doing the same, but I get a free £5 bet each week because I am member of Skybet club.  This has been going on Boston at various prices.  I have said earlier I am not saying the bet will win ( a lot can happen ) but the prices are so wrong on Skybet.  Today on Bet Victor Boston are only 10/1 and Gateshead 25/1.  So Deano, stick another couple of quid on and fill Mel's Very big jam jar.

With Gateshead winning, and making a mockery of their 150/1 price tag, Skybet have offered me a cash out option with a small profit.  I must add this is on the Gatehead single and not on the double with United.

I put a £5.56 ( what I had in my account ) on at 150/1 to return  £839.56.  They have offered me a cash out option of £ 15.64.  About 7/4 my money.  Obviously I will let it ride. ;)

I also had another bet on of £10 @ 150/1 and I have not received a cash out option.

A bit of an update.  The E/W double of Gateshead 150/1  and Boston 25/1  is not looking too shabby at the minute.  With Boston 1 point and Gateshead 3 points away from 3rd spot and a E/W return.

Just an up date, Gateshead still in the running for 150/1 shock result, have Peter Beardsley on the coaching staff part time.
