Brilliant result in an ENTERTAINING game..
At last something to cheer on, to be excited about.
An important win as well ..points and a confidence builder
Only one game but the levels were higher all over the pitch...
Well Done CE... Pleased for you and long may it continue!
I was just telling the guy next to me that one or two were finding the keeper a bit suspect from long range shots.... About 30 secs before their guy let a worldy go...:(
However he more than redeemed himself with one great save and a very good one...
His kicking was good, catching was good... Ended up motm...
Could have been Thompson or Clifton .

A BIG well done to management and players...

Willis beaten from 20 yards again :-\
I'm not a Willis fan, but i was sat right behind the line of the shot. Only just inside the post, and well hit. A good goal rather than an error by the keeper in my book. Two brilliant second half saves more than made up for the goal, whether or not he was or wasn't to blame.

Their tactic of knackering the YS goal mouth backfired on them, also not keen on what the Manager did to Dan the groundsman, bang out of order and a very sore loser.

I agree, I was also dead in line with it and it was a really well hit shot. I don’t think It would be fair to blame the keeper at all. Sometimes you just have to applaud a good goal.

he left York City and signed for NF and is now a Guiesley asset...{local rivals...}

Disgraceful football team from manager to fans, spitting at some one absolute scum bags.
Manager was same when he came earlier in season, horrible vile thing.
Fans spitting a throwing things at players causing trouble all day and why are away fans allowed to sit in home stand.

Hope Dan reports it to police.

Good game of football 2nd half, when we played it on ground at got at them.
Well done lads just need it from start and not when we go 1 down.

Thompson was excellent all afternoon running on for lost causes and a total pest to the York defenders.
Was so satisfying to beat them a vital 3 points and an improving performance as the game went on.
Willis made one save which could be one of the best saves youd ever see!
Well done to everyone involved.

Outstanding win at a vital time .   York was a team of big experienced players .  Sitting in the main stand near the YS end in was clear that they used their size, experience  and physical strength to great advantage the first 45 mins .    Using their experience and physical presence they cleverly nullified many threatening Boston attacks by applying tugs , nudges , obstruction with elbows , arms , and arse and any other part of the body on the blind side of the match officials .    Dubious tactics rather than poor officials .

Credit to players and new management team  for great turnaround .

Proper game of two halves! Could have, and probably should have, been 3 down at half time.
Total transformation second half. That can happen to a team when leading away from home, they sat back a bit. Pleased for Craig though, can tell that meant a lot to him.

On another note, thanks to the two staff members that have left us, especially Karl Hawley, got a lot of time for him and no doubt he'll pop up somewhere and do well.

Listening to the Radio York commentary, totally biased and given us no praise whatsoever. Even praised the defenders including the one who constantly fouled Thompson and then slipped over to get a free kick. The yellow card they got on Thompson was not a foul apparently, Thompson went to ground to easy and made a meal of it, I saw a dangerous tackle that could have been red so who is right?

Oh and they even saw the ball was out for a throw-in in front of the linesman but he let the game go on.

Well I know it's early doors for Craig, but listening to his interview on YouTube, it is clear that he will take no prisoners and it's his way or the highway.
The path for him is clear and he is very ruthless, you can see that in his body language.
At last we have a manager that does not suffer fool's lightly, and if the players don't give everything they will not be here long.
A manager who at last has some balls.
Perhaps though he could have a little look at Liam Adams, he bagged an hatrick in 11minutes for Stamford yesterday, I truly believe he would thrive under Craig.

IF you fancy a biased commentary listen to Radio York. Geroge's second save was the ball hitting him, the penalty was the player going over, we were stood down Spain Road almost level with 18yd line and it was a push in the back. Cannot believe the crap the two are talking and sour grapes lol

That's the impression I got chubby ,  exactly what is required to be a successful manager .   Some of his decisions may well upset fans from time to time ,  personally I prefer that to a load of bullshit from a "nice" losing manager .

I think that may be the case with him GHM, I enjoyed playing under manager's like him, it makes or breaks you as a player.
But it can build a huge bond and work ethic between the players.

almost two days of silence Doc :)
sort of a "No News is good news" type of thing?
i guess the manager needs no advice following a win as he must have acted correctly!

Statistically it is said that if you have a bad experience, you will tell ten others, but if you have a positive experience, you will tell only one other.
I would also add that when negative things happen, there are usually many different solutions, opinions and theories on offer, but when positive things occur, generally most people agree, therefore a quiet forum.
Happy days (for now).

G Willis was in the team of the team of the day for National North & South in The None League paper. Well deserved in my opinion.
And......It was another dramatic weekend in the National League North, but which players stood out for us?
Our team select a starting XI as well as the substitutes - you always need a strong bench and our side is no different!
We’re creating a dream team from each of the National League divisions so everyone can keep tabs on the progress of the players across all three leagues.
It was a brilliant weekend of action in the National League North so here’s our squad who deserve recognition for their efforts and we tell you why they’ve made the cut.

Goalkeeper: Max Crocombe (Salford City)
Defence: James Clifton (Boston United)
An impressive display at full-back helped the Pilgrims to their first win with Craig Elliott in charge with Clifton getting an assist as well.
Defence: Andy Teague (Chorley)
Defence: Fraser Horsfall (Kidderminster Harriers)
Defence: Shane Byrne (Brackley Town)
Midfield: Oli Johnson (Bradford Park Avenue)
Midfield: Declan Weeks (Kidderminster Harriers)
Midfield: Callum Powell (Tamworth)
Striker: Jason Gilchrist (Southport)
Striker: Aaron Williams (Brackley Town)
Striker: Tom Greaves (FC United of Manchester)
Substitutes:
George Willis (Boston United)
Liam Hogan (Salford City)
Ashley Chambers (Nuneaton Town)
Adam Boyes (Bradford Park Avenue)
Steve Irwin (FC United of Manchester)
