Title: WELL DONE LADS
Post by: doc on November 11, 2017, 08:39:23 PM
Well I thought that was a great performance.  Everyone committed. Absolutely gutted at the end.  WELL DONE LADS!

Yep,result was a bit gutting, but as a fan was great to see a bit of passion and commitment from the players, seemed to be a team spirit there today that has sadly been lacking of late.
Made a change to be stood in York street again, used to stand behind the goal many years ago when it was our home end and thought today we created a pretty decent atmosphere.

More of that level of play and them two points will only cost us a top twelve finish

Salford and Stockport now in a few weeks and we have shown both that we can match them but the refereeing let us down in both games.

Salford 4 minutes to add he allowed 1.27   Today (we made a sub on 89 minutes) board says 5 to play he lets them score in 7.5 (told the lad he would carry on until they scored and he did) but to use the excuse that we were the cause of it cos we made a sub is taking the piss. Our sub came on before the board went up and no way did that take 2.5 minutes (unlike recent visiting teams)

We deserve so much more from these games but are being held back, decisions like these cause managers to lose jobs and teams to be relegated, we may rue these two points come April, we went from 19th to 21st cos of his added time in added time.

On the plus side, as said already, we have played 3 of the top teams now (Salford, Brackley and Stockport) and have been the better team for long periods of the game, we just need a bit more luck but the lads are proving they have what it takes so onwards and upwards, three points against those cheats at Harrogate would be a nice start :)

I agree with you. We're almost looking like a different side. We had commitment, effort, togetherness, and showed plenty if fight. More of this over the coming weeks is definitely much needed, but surely will reap rewards. Everyone on and off that pitch deserved 3points, not 1.

Gutted as much as anybody but the game aside I thought the remembrance ceremony was excellent and a real credit to the club. Also some of the Stockport  fans showed real class with the "Lest we forget" banner and the two wonderful flags with the giant poppies, well done to them and everyone for a wonderful tribute to those that gave everything for us.

Unsavoury incident after the final whistle under the main stand  with a Boston fan physically threatening a Stockport fan who was holding the hand of his young son. The young boy was in tears afterwards and probably something he won't forget easily.

Much better on the footballing front but ruined in the last five minutes before and after the game.

Absolute idiot - absolutely no excuse for that kind of unprovoked behaviour. Another Boston fan was escorted out of the ground by police during the first half. Something was said to a Stockport fan who looked absolutely furious.

On the football front, we look a different side. Really performed well - the fact we made a team chasing playoffs look ordinary proves we're no way as bad as our league position suggests. If we could just bring in a decent striker...

Just saw the highlights, again Willis can't stop a long range shot, what is going on with him?
The new manager needs to put that right ASAP, it's costing us valuable points, I know Willis is not totally to blame for the result and does make some great saves.
But that was a poor attempt at a save, and in fairness it was a poor shot.

Yes, and saw a fantastic display by our young goalkeeper.

Yes I agree he does put in some great performances, but it is worrying that he keeps letting in long range efforts.
I am not saying he is a bad keeper, but it has got to be an area that he has to work on.

No he wouldn't, and if he works on his weaknesses he will probably become a player that other teams want and are prepared to pay us a good fee for.
It still does remain a fact that he lets alot of long range efforts in.

Might be worth creating a dossier, and sending it to the new manager and goalkeeping coach...
