Title: Good Luck
Post by: green hats mate on October 10, 2017, 09:49:14 AM
To Chubby today in the £167 million Euro Lottery Draw .

I reckon if chubby wins he will be true to his word and buy the club out .

What will Chubby get in return ?   First and foremost a warm and genuine thank you from DN

Also messages on Patter from some fans expressing loyalty and respect , who in a few months time
will probably be abusive to your choice of manager .

A demand from the above mentioned fans that winning the league is a must .  anything else is failure ,
and a licence to condemn your choice of manager .

Never ever being involved in the running of a football club  the advice I offer you is only what I have gathered by spending many
decades watching football at York St .        Never ever be swayed be a very small number of vociferous fans who throw vile abuse
at managers/players ,   always aim to please the vast majority.

well done lads...i hope you are proud
after welcoming AM as some sort of God, they're starting to turn on him as well.
you wanted DG out..you got that...you now want AM out ..maybe one of you football geniuses could step up and have a go??

Sorry to disappoint but I will not be buying the club, I will though get that bloody stadium built for you all.
I will make a sizeable donation to the playing budget though.
After giving no thought to this at all, I will though buy Salford City, my plan is to throw out the BBC cameras and slash the playing budget to £1000 a year.
Then sit back and laugh as the club tumbles down the league's until it is not viable anymore, shut the gates and sell it of for a fat profit, to some property developer.
I will then buy Boston United with the money I have made out of Salford demise.
Great let's hope I win now.

For all their claims of being fans these people just use the club to provide themselves with a target (manager or players )
to spew foul mouth abuse at .

They appear to be completely ignorant of the process of running a football club being limited to the usual clichés ," speculate to accumulate "    "offer reduced admission"  "get a proper manager"  etc .

Never ever having been critical of DN on this occasion I am going to be so ,   when this social media nonsense began he should have  nipped in the bud ,  Greene should have been told to cut out or go ,  likewise it should have been made clear to the so called knobhead army cut it out or a ban will be imposed .    These geniuses cannot figure out their behaviour offends decent fans and must make sponsors think is it a club that deserves backing .  they are just draining the heart out of the club .

I think most Boston United fans want the best for the club, and do support the team and manager.
But at the moment there is a lack of self belief all through the club.
Much of this revolves around the lack of progress with the new ground, I think once we see the diggers move in and some action with that the nerves will settle.
At the moment for me the club seems to be in a void and drifting a little bit.
But OXO is right we must all stick together now and help pull Boston through this, it's frustrating at the best of times, but we are Boston United and have come through tougher times than this.
Keep the faith and keep believing

I don't do twitter , facebook,  etc   but I gather it was a great outlet for abuse in the Amy v Greene war . I think that's fine , stick to it there and leave YS in peace .

GHM I like you have supported this club for many a year ( not as long as you, you old bugger ).

We now live in a different world, where keyboard warriors hide behind a stupid name ( me included ;) )

Where the school bully can still bully you when you are away from school.  Just look at the trolls who post death treats to MPs etc.

Gone are the days when you went to a match, let off steam about some inept performance went to the pub and forgot about it.

Today we still talk about it weeks later via Patter and social media.  There is no escape for management or players.

I was not one of the anti DG brigade, I did not like him as a person but as a manager he suited us. You know I like a good conspiracy theory.  I thought we played the second leg at North Ferriby like we didn't want to win and after that it looked like DG lost interest.

I would still invest in the club if I had the money, it's in your blood.

As many know I had altercations with Mr Green but they were always face to face and that is the way it should be. Can we all please leave the past in the past and concentrate our energy on helping to get the club out of the mess it has found itself. I will be watching our youth team this afternoon with the hope of seeing some of our first team of the future. Will then be at Chorley more in hope than expectation as my prediction of a six goal thrashing based on the Telford non performance. A fooL? maybe but we have been through worse.  UTP

You know too that I enjoy a good conspiracy storey Dip , and I think there is no better place than the Conf North play-offs to find one .
Fans at other clubs also often do speculation on certain players attitude , fuelled by speculation on the players desire or not to turn full time .

Hope you have a lotto win and form a cooperative to run the club with Chubby and his winnings .

Yes GHM tolerance and understanding is needed at the moment, no amount of falling out and abuse will fix anything on or off the field, I am in my 33 season as a supporter and when here of people that have been surporters much longer than me I have nothing but admiration and respect for them.
Those like yourself must have massive amounts of resolve.
In my time as a supporter I have questioned myself as to why I bother carrying on as a supporting.
Well the answer to that came clear sitting in the ground, listening to John Blackwell and Mr Pieipoint trying to come up with a plan to stop us going out of existence, their were many people in that crowd, who had tears welling up there eyes and fear on their faces including me.
I was massively in debt back then and had no money other than £200 which I took with me to give to the club.
It's only then that I realized why I supported Boston United.
I don't live in the town wasn't born there either, I live closer to Holbeach and Spalding and it's the same distance to travel to King's Lynn as it is to Boston.
I support them because from the first time I went to watch them I was made to feel welcome, and above all I enjoyed it.
It was the nearest thing to watching league football in a proper ground.
As one old fella said to me at a home game recently, " I don't know why everyone is moaning we still have a club and stadium and we are still watching a decent standard of football, it may not always be us that are playing it,but still we are watching it"
Keep the faith everyone, because sometimes that's all we have to fall back on.
Here's to the first round proper of the FA CUP.

Look, we all heard the stories swirling around the club when DG was in charge. As a person, he wasn't someone many of us would warm to but yeah, he was a good fit for the club and the players seemed to enjoy playing for him. I honestly don't think the 'Knobhead Army' seriously swayed Newton's final decision. The worst they did was provoke DG into a few social media spats, which given DN's penchant for professionalism and running a tight ship, certainly didn't help - but in the end DG dug his own grave by essentially chucking the towel in, by which I mean I don't think he had the energy to build another team. The summer after Ferriby needed early signings and a plan - he didn't have one.

I recall at Fylde, having just been utterly humiliated, it was left to Gregg Smith to conduct the post-match post-mortem on the pitch with a few of the United squad. Den wasn't really bothered. He found Carla and buggered off down the tunnel, not to be seen again. Indeed, Paul Cavell was left to wander around looking for him. It was then that I knew it was curtains for DG, his mind just seemed elsewhere. It's a shame how it ended - I think he'd just run his course and a parting of ways was inevitable. Really don't think you can say six lads on twitter or Andy B yelling at him really affected things too much. Christ, if that's the kind of thing that did, Newt would burn through eight managers a month.

DN's one real mistake in 10 years; giving Greene a contract extension BEFORE the play off. We all knew the team was going to break up, Pidge off travelling, Zack,Dayle and a few others looking to move on; it was a time for a fresh start.

Never mind, we have what we have and the most important thing is we've still got a club even if it is a league below where it ought to be.

you could be right about about the timing of Greenes 2 yr contract extension. Wonder why  DN only announced it on the 11 may on the club o/s; 3 days after the play off 2nd leg?  There doesn't appear to be any evidence of the contract being awarded before either of the play off legs?

But Dennis would have known before that, as he would have been in negotiations before hand.
It was probably signed and sealed before the first leg against Ferriby.
In fairness to DN why wouldn't you give him a contract, after all achieved the targets he was set.
But anyway that's in the past now, time we all moved on, and look to the future.

Don't think Greene would get many week end breaks at Skeggy on his compo Andy .
The subject on non-league managers contracts is not worth discussing unless we can see the actual terms of the contract /s
.

I think you last sentence underlines the problem facing chairman and managers at BUFC ,  I presume you mean we should be at Con NATIONAL level ,   what criteria is this based on ?

As for it being DN only mistake if you recall the appointments of at least 3 of his managers have been highly criticised by you , and I would suggest proved more expensive than the compensation discussed here .

Agree with a lot of what has been posted on here. I left the Supporters page on Facebook as the same few people were calling for AM to be sacked (where were they the week before? Oh, yeah, we won, move on). As you say the sheep mentality is back, hearing idiots slagging off Chapman when a pass goes astray and he is sat on the bench just sums up some of the idiots.

One muppet was having a go at AM so I pointed him in the direction of a youtube video where Craig interviewed AM with the latter apologising for getting it wrong so far this season (first 10 or so games) and he was working hard to rectify this now we are back to saturday only games, needless to say said muppet refused to watch the video .

We are trying to get forwards BUT with money floating around the top few clubs players would rather sit on their arse for a decent pay packet rather than play regular football, that is true at all levels not just ours.

Anyway, I shall be cheering the lads on tomorrow via Twitter and IF we draw I shall be there for the replay.

Just something I read just now and thought it was appropriate to our situation

Meanwhile, former Reds boss Kenny Dalglish said patience was required and that there was no quick solution for Klopp.

"If you buy well enough then you can compete. You don't have to do it in one transfer window, it may take four or five," said Dalglish, who won the league title three times in charge of Liverpool between 1985 and 1991.

"I think it is society. People are used to instant solutions but it doesn't work in football.

Biggest game in Murrays history though mate.
Win and we move on to getting some well needed league wins, draw and we will still have a chance in the cup but dare I say it, lose and his time here might be over or at the very least hanging by a thread. I would love Murray to turn things around and prove us wrong but it does seem that his tactics are not working and resulting in negative play thus not creating shots on goal or much of a threat going forward. Our stats this season is all I need to conclude this this season, it just seems very poor with what we were told were better players signed ! Sooner or later these players need to live up to their respective billings and the manager needs to live up to his ambitions of play offs.
Personally I think what we need is a manager who is a mix of Greene's style of play and with Murrays friendliness and someone who is keeping off Twitter !
Lets cross fingers, thumbs, legs and eyes for this much needed cup win.

"A bit of patience doesn't go amiss for anyone who wants to be successful."

Sadly it does not work in our league , clubs can 't risk  giving players long contracts . We built a team containing 4/5 outstanding players , they departed to better things and almost a year on we appear to still be in decline .   Kiddy last years runners-up had 5 of their players move on to higher level and lost a striker which they were desperate to keep to Boston (who said Adam couldn't find strikers ).  After 12 games the manager appears to be getting them turned round .

I suspect too much of our budget is taken up on the bench .

Well today is the day, a win would be wonderful, but I would take a draw.
Good luck to everyone, and to those going have a safe journey.

So Kiddi wanted to hang on to Waite, but Adam shoves him out on loan, which according to the web is now over.
I wonder if he will return today, I just don't think he has been given a chance to prove his worth at Boston.
He will probably be released from us, re sign for Kiddi, and then bang a hatrick in against us, funny old game.

You know I believe all Adam says chubby,   but  reading on the Kiddy fans forum at the time their fans were pleased to see him go .

Did any of you miserable sods notice that we are still in the hat for the next round. Let me tell you it was a very good performance and we were robbed by the most pathetic ref I have ever seen. I was leaning on the wall behind the goal directly in line when Yeomans had beaten two defenders to the ball and was about to shoot from just six yards, in fact it needed little more than a toe poke and he was felled from behind, as stone wall penalty as you will ever see, Play on says the ref ball is cleared down field Yeomans races back and tackles their forward as he goes for goal. Yeomans is dismissed, Justice?.
I know this will cause some of you distress but 120 or so supporters sang "There's only one Adam Murray" as they applauded the lads off. This performance was a million miles from last week and if we can find that elusive striker we will be okay. Unfortunately I will be away on Tuesday but ask that those among you who are true fans to get down and get behind them.  UTP

Mel I must agree when we are poor the keyboard warriors are all over it when we we battle and get a great result nothing. Sat on a beach today had Chorley Radio on there twitter our twitter and it sounded a great effort from both sides. Normally for away games on certain dates we have a mini bus full of guys who all comment on our great support and to hear the chants about AM is great. So far it's not going to plan but the effort from top to bottom is there to see and Am might look deflated in videos as he cares. I think we should realise we are nor a sugar daddies toy but a good old fashion club.  So Tuesday let's get behind them from minute one no negativity if a pass goes wrong or a chance missed.  We could be in fa cup first round. For 90 minutes let's believe. I'm chuffed as I'm back from hols Monday.  For the older crew remember Leroy Chambers FA match. Laters last g and t calling

Very good result, will try my hardest to be there on Tuesday, but have to be at work for 10pm, so may have to miss it.
Peed my manager off last week so would very much doubt I would get a Holiday.
He can certainly be classed as a knob head.

Come on chubby , in my days it was either a sickie or your grandmothers funeral .  Don't think they do evening funerals so it will have to be a sickie .
We can't afford a weakened Spayne terrace for a big cup-tie . You and Oxo missing !!!!! the  mainstays of the terrace  :)

And what did this 0-0 draw do to mine and your credibility on the Prediction League Mel ?

I predicted a Boston victory with us scoring 6 gaols , My excuse ? Murrays fault !! played too defensive  ;)

You predicted a 6-0 defeat for Pilgrims , Your excuse ?

My excuse is better than yours Pete, it was based upon our dire performance the week before at Telford which I had the mis pleasure of witnessing.
