Title: happy clappers cloud cuckoo land
Post by: hozzer on March 26, 2016, 10:50:51 PM
Boston United form in last 8 games W1 D1 L6 which is the worst in National North.

72 points has got teams in the playoffs for the last few years, but 70 might do it this year. As we have a poor goal difference we are going to need at least 71 so last 6 form needs to be W - W - W - D - W - W.

So win 5 games and get a draw at Harrogate and it means the play offs, easy!

Based on current form, I think 60 points is stretching the imagination, but that will be good enough for at least 10th. That is as long as the refs don't give bad decisions, the fans are more polite (especially to Lewis H), and the tactics work, and oh yes, nearly forgot, as long as the moaners keep their views to themselves so the manager and team don't suffer emotionally.

I reckon it will be done .
Prediction .   A draw 6 - 6 at Tamworth . This will be followed by one of the highly critical fans from social /media/Patter phoning DN   to reveal the name of a successor to replace  Greene who would carry us into the play-offs .   Newton takes this fans advice and appoints the suggested manager .   This fans advice is fully vindicated as this manager takes us to 5 straight wins and the play-offs .  After winning the play-offs DN is that delighted that he gifts the club to the fan .

What happens next ?
Will this new set-up go on to win the NC Prem ?,
Or will they go bust by the end of the first season ?

Ha, ha.  Love it GHM.  Most of us happy clappers are aware that we are poor at the moment, none of us are denying that. But we are also FULLY aware that the issues previously mentioned of hounding the manager on a fans forum such as telling him what he should be doing formation wise, who he should, or shouldn't be bringing in, whining about what the budget is, oh and whining about the ticket prices...again, while at the same time bragging that they get in for free to some games ( how ironic that they want the club to progress and want to reduce funds ).  You know what, us happy clappers feel like the downfall in form is linked to this abuse, which started far far before the whole "knobhead" saga, in fact, it triggered it off.  Its made the whole place feel split and uneasy, not a nice place to be around at the mo.

At the end of the day, we have opposite opinions, and I understand if you don't get where I come from, but I can 100% assure you that just like you I love the club, love going to watch, and love a bit of banter on here. It is a very divided opinion, but so can be everything in life where passion and emotion exist. In our different views, we all want the same thing, a successful football club. dennis is a manager whose style will naturally divide opinion, so these debates are inevitable, especially when the going gets tough. So split and uneasy it is now, and with a huge game coming up tomorrow, it will inevitably fuel the fire further, should we not win. I'll be happy for you to say I told you so if we make the playoffs, as at the end of the day, the club and team are what we all love and want to succeed.

I agree with you that we all want success, and we all love this club of ours. My only gripe is that none of the direct abuse and accusations should have happened on the fans page towards the manager to trigger off the knobhead response. As since then, things have just not been let go by some, and its become an obsession to drive Den out. I think that now, lessons will be learned and that Den, or any future manager will be kept off such groups as its just an open invitation for some to abuse and it does not help our cause.   As for the play offs, just a few weeks ago i thought we would certainly still make them, now i am not so sure.  Its a massive game tomorrow, and with a few injured it makes it even harder.

People are allowed to boo and call players and manager f  ing useless and they are not to react at all as it's completely ok.
DG uses the reference of knobhead to a small group and gets vilified. ....
He isn't a magician or superhuman. ...he's just trying to do his job. Before you start shouting abuse at the players you purport to support just think...."is this really helping the lad or the team"?
If your answer is "yes"....apply for Jeremy Kyle show and collect your teeth on the way out.
Lewis Hilliard had a nightmare yesterday. ..a truly awful time BUT he never hid and he kept trying. He must have wanted to come off and had injuries not occurred he probably would have.  It's easy to forget his first few games where he scored a few goals.
The lad has confidence issues....yesterday's abuse probably didn't help......

A nice calm response ED ,  always divided opinion on football which makes the game more interesting ,  sadly a few will not tolerate or fully discuss others point of view .   In fact some just go on media sprouting abuse rather than having a rational discussion .    I think it,s fair to say most managers split opinions .

Bad results are not to blame for the behaviour of some ,  even in the middle of our good run Radio Lincs had a regular texter after decent wins calling for Greenes sacking .

Recall earlier in the season one regular poster on Patter sent posts to Patter on a regular basis directing abuse at Greene .     Often wondered what would have happened if he/she had posted such comments during a previous managers time .
