Title: Oxo for manager....56 seconds!
Post by: kingofnaves on November 21, 2015, 03:19:27 PM
Good to see den following OXO advice and it works in less than a minute!
No excuses Greene you picked the team. How on earth could you drop Liam Marrs who has been our most reliable defender all season? How on earth can you start Robbins  when there is more go in a butchers dog?
Sorry but I am totally peed off with some of these team selections thank goodness I didn't waste my money and stayed at home listening to equally disgusted commentators.

2-0 up
Blinco crashed it home from 18 yards for his second of the game.
who will get your praise for this one KON
I would lay odds it wont be Den ????

Cannot see us winning this match after they outplayed us at York St
and somehow lost the game. They are more physical than us and have a
better manager.

Alfreton 3 Boston Utd 0

Attendance 579
It's a funny ole game isn't it :)
Armed only with a midget midfield a boy in goal and a rubbish manager we managed to get a result!
Throw in a dodgy bus as well ....
DG has to be the luckiest manager ever!

A mixed day for potential manager dt .  An admirer of Nicky Law the Alfreton "proper" manager,  he must have been delighted to see DG completely outflank Law yet again with tactics . Diamonds are Dens best friend  ;D
Dens subs is a subject dj monitors closely , he must have been delighted with that aspect of DG management today .   Just 2 subs used ,  Dixon who earned us 3 points with a brilliant block 2 mins from the end , and Felix who kept the Alfreton defenders stretched at the end .

Maybe the only down side for dt today would be the fact that DG did not take off McEvoy and Richards along with Blinco,  as he claims
 loanees are "no good" .

Funny old league this, despite not being particularly great we're only one point off 2nd and four points off the top.

Hello it's me. Just a couple of things to put the record straight. After last Tuesday I said it will be a bloody cold day before we won another game, Well I am still thawing out with the help of a lovely bottle of scotch but by gum I was right. I am also raising a glass or two to the management team and the lads for a really great display, everyone gave their all and to be honest we played them off the pitch. A team of six foot plus and we played it through them and at times made them look like a flock of bandy legged storks. All over the park we were the side that played football and believed in what we were doing. Keep up this belief and we will be okay, Oh heck this bottles nearly gone, Well done lads.

Thats what we like about you Mel , quick to point out short comings,
but just as quick to give generous praise when things go right .
Now put that bottle down before you get pissed  :)

wannabe armchair managers on here seem to have short arms and long pockets when dishing out praise once they have the  manager in there sights.

Football is a funny old game. Not many of your saw that coming either.
I certainly didn't. Congrats to the manager and particularly the team for
a battling and gritty performance, shame we did not score a few of the
many chances we seemed to create, and could even have blown it at the end.

At least we had Liam back and some strength in midfield with Garner as
suggested by some of us several times already this season
--why could we not have picked that team selection on last Tuesday????

Oh for some consistency. Shame you happy clappers cant find more positive
comments about the team rather than always delighting in having a go at the
likes of me. Some of you must lead a very sad existance.

Hasn't Garner played in midfield all season apart from dropping back onto the back 4 emergency?

Not many saw that coming, yet many predicted an away win here on patter ?? mmmmm. Isn't this now a clear case of double standards stating why have a go at the likes of me, when its very easy for the likes of whoever to constantly have a go at the team, manager and players. If you can't take it, don't dish it was what i grew up to learn.   BTW, would rather be a happy clapper than a moaning minnie any given day  ;D ;D  LOL   :bunny :bunny :bunny

I thought yesterday's game was pretty good for best part of 75 minutes but we made hard work of it towards the end. If it wasn't for some heroic blocks we'd of dropped 2 points. Why we switch off and invite pressure on ourselves at times I don't know. Well done to the players however for really putting their bodies on the line and giving their all to secure the 3 points.

It was nice to go to a game not segregated, no dramas and have a laugh and joke with some of the home fans. It's days like yesterday what makes me enjoy non league football. Oh and the ale was bloody good too.

Well done to all on yesterday's result.

RE:  Team selection :
Only one change (Liam) yesterday from Tues team ,  from reports , with all respect to Liam I don,t think that one change in the line up would have made an impact on the teams display Tues .

Now one thing that would have had a profound effect on the performances is if DG had listened to your advice , i.e no loanees as you have suggested their no good .  That would have left us without Ravas, McEvoy , Richards and Blinco . Not good !!!!
Your suggestion pre home match v Alfreton that we should have kept Galinski would have been costly to us too .  Seph was at fault in 3 of the 4 goals we scored against Alfreton .   Lets leave the team selection to DG.

We know you read oxo,s posts , oxo offers unreserved praise as always happens when the team and manager gets it right .
May be hard to do but maybe you would feel better by doing the same .

As for "for having a go at the likes of me " as far as I can see your the only one on here mounting a personal campaign against Green .

As a friend I urge you to forget about DG or go and discuss your gripes with him ,   start to enjoy following bufc again .   Your one man campaign will not remove him .

No shame in enjoying your football like us happy clappers .

Pete, Liam was not the only change, as I said in my post on last Tuesdays game I was critical of Robbins starting and he did not start or come on on Saturday. You probably don't see eye to eye with me on this player but I feel we have better options although if he gets himself up to speed at this level I will be happy to see him progress.

Sorry oxo ,  I should know better than contradict you  :)

I think most fans and myself are with you on Robbins , a frustrating type of player for fans and manager I suspect .

But, he's the kind of player who creates something from nothing... such as the Alfreton home game. He could be the difference at the end of the season.

Robbins is definately a marmite player. Fans will either see what he contributes in games or they'll be in the other camp getting frustrtated with him. I'm definately in the pro Robbins camp and like other have said, the benefits of having him in the squad outweigh the negatives.

Agree P86 ,  exciting match winner at times , frustrating other times.
Until he motivates himself to have a bigger input when on the field he will remain an impact sub .
Hope DG can bring out his full potential .

Agreed, once Kaine, Jonah and Rollins are fully fit, we have an exciting list of options to play alongside Dayle - even without Simmons and Blinco if they go back.

Think most of you having a go at me have missed the point that I
am largely winding you up. Still you will be pleased to know that
I have decided not to bother to respond to your constant nit picking
over my posts. I suggest you read them closely again, because what
I am being accused of has usually been taken out of context.

So no more posts from me apart from the prediction league.
Perhaps you are happy now, but no doubt will start having a go at
somebody else who has the audacity to be critical of things they do not like.

Thats about 6 come backs you,ve made since Nov 10th when you came on and threatened not to post again .   I, m sure you will be back shortly .

If many people are taking you comments out of context I,m sure it must be all the people on here who cannot read a concise statement  ;)   I bet Dennis Greene has interpreted your comments on him as compliments  :)

Most on Patter realise their opinions will be challenged now and again with genuine disagreement and accept it . You come on mostly with the intention of slinging abuse at Greene .  I think even the few anti Greene people on Patter realise it is overdone and has the adverse effect you wished .

Note on the Alfeton forum you would get no joy ,  although you rate Nicky Law a  "proper manager" their fans are calling for his removal. .
Don,t think asking pertinent questions is "nit picking ", yet you never respond .
