Title: No keeper on the bench today, risky or not ?
Post by: Winging It on September 12, 2015, 02:24:44 PM
Looking at the subs bench - SUBS: McGhee, Dowie, Sarpong, Walker & Deacey  its noted that we don't have a keeper on there.

In my eyes this is always risky,  what's others think ?

Seeing all 5 subs were wingers/midfielders , any one of those omttted to make way for a goalie would seemed the best bet .

Let's hope this picking names out of a hat for goalkeepers Jersey stops soon, surely it's better to have a regular number 1, Alexander is by far the better of the youngsters we have, in my opinion.
Then maybe the defence will get to know what to expect from their Number 1 Mr Greene.

Peterborough United recalled Friend this week and he has now been loaned out to Kings Lynn for rest of the season.  No doubt because he wasn't getting any matches at Boston.

Perhaps Ravas is now playing (& in Dennis's Radio Lincs interview said he was going to keep a settled side for a few matches to determine who the best goalkeeper is).  I wonder if that is just an excuse because he fears The Posh will recall Ravas.
However isn't Alexander the better goalkeeper?

Last season we started badly, as far as I am concerned because we didn't have a settled goalkeeper;  12 months later and the same problem exists.

Alexander must've got a niggle again.... he's leagues apart from Ravas, who has thrown in 3 in 4 games, costing 3 points.
No excuse otherwise for him not to play.

No injury to Alexander. purely Dennis choosing to play ravas, he sees rotating the keeper as no issue I disagree, ravas has cost us points everytime he has played.

Only second time seen BUFC this season but others around me suggested that Henrich's selection over Jason was not 100% based on their individual abilities. May be right that Henrich selected due to pressure from his parent club?

I may have been mistaken but I am sure one reason Dennis gave for not playing Alexander  was because he was only 18 yo.   Ravas is only 17.
He also said the issue isn't about goalkeepers.
Really?
It was the main reason we started badly last season - not having a settled goalkeeper.

Most people learn from their mistakes...........
