A whole load of huff and puff and very little quality from either side.

Missed Pidge and Mills. Felix would have had their chunky fullback all game had he been fit.  Hoo hum, Tamworth was the more important of the two games as we cannot afford our home form to let us down.

Where did I say we didn't?

You took the chance that fell your way, we didn't take ours.  Games that are even generally become scrappy like that at any level.  And as a group of fans we're allowed to look at the game and work out where we would have stood had all the squad been fit and other players been available.

This is our forum is it not?

Regardless of the circumstances it's three defeats before the end of August. Need to go on hellof a run now to get anywhere this season. Really lacking presence in midfield. So many average players in there  and just too lightweight.

Agree TEP ..
I would give the incumbent 4 games to get 7 points i.e 2 wins 1 draw 1 loss on a rolling basis .
Then I am not the Chairman .
Though Green has a habit of winning games he needs to ..Re Monday .

And I hereby allocate 'only 3 points off the playoffs'  to the Happy Clappers dictionary  !

Poor. Made a terrible error for their goal when that aside ravas had done well. Defence looked solid but going forward we were woeful. Jona couldn't hold the ball at all. Dayle marked totally out the.game. Midfield unwilling to be brave on the ball, and play. All lumping it aimlessly. We didn't deserve anything

We made enough chances in the first half, to put at least one of them away (even Dom Roma went close for us). Second half was a non-event, and the fact it took a mistake for them to score, shows it all..

A whole lot of huff and puff but no quality, but we're not allowed to call it that as they get upset.

Although perhaps unfair to single anyone out, thought Deen-Conteh was particularly lacklustre again yesterday. DG was constantly having to tell him where to run and what to do and in the end subbed him  - he seemed really frustrated with him. Sooner we get a replacement the better.

He came off ill, so must've been a doubt. Probably wouldn't have played if Mills and Pidge were available.

Who would you replace a manager "that has a habit of winning games he needs to do " with ? is,nt that the exact talent that chairmen look for .

Anyone who allocates "only 3 points off the play-offs"   to the happy clappers dictionary should really allocate a little time to the Nat Conf record books before rushing into print .

Hi again GHM ..
Maybe in contradicting myself somewhat I achieved a 'balanced' post .
And calculating on last seasons Conf North finish ..You need say 3 wins & 2 draws per 6 games for a comfy playoff place ..and 3 wins & 1 draw to scrape in with 70 points .
You may like to expand on you last point .
                         fT.

If you look at the record books you will find that a few teams over the years have landed a play-off spot after being bottom half of table mid-season .      Put me down as a realistic "happy clapper".

its important we have early season stutters, if we start how we finish whats the point of the other teams turning up

Well 1/7 of league games played  . .and only approx 10 % of managers will achieve promotion ..so we will see .

Midget United again. When will this manager learn what is required in this
northern physical league!!!!

Interestingly the player he brings in on loan is southern based yet again.

We will do nothing this year without a more physical set up.

Come on Mr Genius step up to the plate or let somebody else do the job

We seemed to do OK last season... stop moaning and get behind the team. We had 2 of our most physical players out on Saturday, replaced 1 with a 6ft2 defender... and you're still moaning we're not big enough?

Greene made the change last season, moving Garner into midfield to give us more of a presence. You didn't complain when that saw us go on a phenomenal run until the of the season, did you?

Having both Mills and Pidge unavailable v Trinity was a big loss, two big players for us.

Pidge back today pushing Garner into midfield should see us looking more solid.

Thanks for correction P86 .   Gloucester was the game Dixon got  MOM .  More impressive still as they were a bigger team than Tamworth .l

Dixon was MOTM for me in the two games I've seen, Gloucester and Tamworth.

Pidge proves my point exactly. If we had several more players with the spirit and
commitment he has we would be in a much better position.

Look at the sides that do well in this league. On average they are significantly
bigger than we are. Time will tell.

Sounds harsh to me dt ,  I thought all the starting 11 showed spirit and commitment .  Maybe Felix was not as committed as he usually is but no doubt that was due to him just returning from injury .

I can,t name anyone who I thought did,nt put in a spirited shift .

Personally I think Dixon and garner works well as midfield partnership. Both get stuck in. Garner organises the team well from the middle and Dixon makes good forward runs.

Suppose roy kean was one of these 6'8" giants we're talking about. Never bought it myself it's about how much you want the ball. If David Silva was three inches taller and two stone more he'd not be able to do what he does. All that considered he rarely gets pushed off the ball

Spot on, Billy Bremner, Nobby Stiles, Johny Giles hardly  giants  but you wouldn't mind them on your side if there was a battle to win. Big and physical doesn't mean you win all the battles, it could also mean slow and clumsy.
