Pilgrims' Patter

It's August so it must be time to start up the Pilgrims' Patter Prediction League.
There have been a few suggestions for changes but it would be quite a lot of hassle rewriting my spreadsheet that does the sums or collecting entry fees etc. So it's easiest to keep it the same as previously.
For those who haven't played before, it's all about predicting the results AND attendances of Boston United's first team games throughout the season. As the season goes on you accumulate points and the winner is the person with the most points at the end of the season. There's no entry fee and no prizes apart from the honour of being the winner. It's just a bit of fun! (Though I'll probably pester everyone to sponsor me in some running event in appreciation for me doing all the updating)
All predictions must be made before kick off - although I'm open to bribes of a pint of Batemans XXXB or Dark Lord to accept predictions that are a few minutes late. 8)
You get 3 points for the correct score or 1 point for the correct result.
You get 10 points if you get the attendance spot on or 3 points if within 30 or 1 point if within 60.
Soon after each game I usually manage to process the scores and update the points table and post it on Patter.
Don't forget to predict BOTH a score and an attendance.
You can edit your prediction right up until kickoff time.
In Cup games with extra time it's the score at the end of normal time that counts.
If a game is postponed or abandoned then all predictions for that match are null and void.
So here's my prediction for Boston's opening Vanarama National League North match at Edgeley Park, Stockport:
Stockport County 1-1 Boston United (2951)

Just one about the attendances Ken- it's much harder to get within 30 & 100 for the bigger teams who get big crowds than it would be for Brackley, so would it be better to say 10pts if spot on, 3pts if within 10% either side and 1pt within 20% either side???

Sounds good and wouldn't require more than a minor change to my spreadsheet. I reckon it would need to be a bit tighter though as just using the average attendance as a prediction would pick up 1 point for most games as actual attendances are mostly within 20% of the average gate (all but 5 of Boston's home games last season and all but 7 of the away games). So how about within 10% gets 1 point and within 5% gets 3pts and 10 points for spot on?

It's your game, but that sounds good.
For Brackley you can be sure it'll be between 250 and 400 so you've a large chance of a result otherwise whereas Stockport could be between 3,000 and 4,000 depending on how they turn out, o the percentage idea would be good

Happy New season everyone! Unfortunately Mrs Challis was fed up of never managing to out-predict me so is giving it a miss this year! She is still wonderful though as she bought me my new BUFC home shirt. I will just aim to out score BillyShears again!

Here's the opening table after:
Stockport County 2-1 Boston United (3396)
Following the excellent suggestion by joshb I've changed how points are calculated for the attendance predicitions. It's now based on the % away from the true value rather than fixed values. So now you still get 10 pts for a spot on prediction but now get 3 points if your prediction is within 5% of the actual value and 1 point if within 10%.
Seven people managed to predict the correct score and eighteen people got the attendance within 5%. Only Burgh Boy and The Smoke Monster did both. Cousin Jack got closest to the correct attendance being just 7 (0.2%) out.
