What had to be repaired ?
-
The disabled access along side the pitch had become virtually unusable owing to the wood underneath rotting - not totally unconnected with all the rainwater off the stand falling directly onto it. BUSA had planned to fund the replacement.....but Mick managed to get a lot of local companies to give most of the required material (astroturf, decking etc.) for free and got together a willing band of labour to get the job done. Haven't seen it but the plan was to include a cover (sponsored by a local tent maker) which will be there when not in use and stop a repeat of the rotting. BUSA picked up the tab for the minority of materials that had to be bought.
